    Raiders Releasing QB Geno Smith

Fantasy News

  • Raiders' Chris Jones: Signs with Las Vegas

Jones signed a contract with the Raiders on Monday. Jones will join the Raiders after bouncing around multiple teams, including the Lions, Vikings and Titans, over the past three seasons. Over seven games with Tennessee last season, the cornerback registered seven tackles and one pass defended while playing 80 defensive and 61 special-teams snaps. Jones is approaching his age-27 season and could stand to provide some additional veteran depth if he makes Las Vegas' final 53-man roster.

  • Vikings' Chris Jones: Ready for Sunday's game

The Vikings lifted Jones' roster exemption Saturday, making him eligible to play Sunday versus the Packers. The Vikings claimed Jones off waivers from the Lions earlier this week, and he's cleared the necessary COVID-19 protocols to join the team. There's a decent chance he's still inactive Sunday because he hasn't practiced with the team, and if he suits up, he'll likely stick to a special teams role.

  • Chris Jones: Let go by Detroit

The Lions waived Jones on Saturday. Jones was waived last Saturday but re-signed with the team Wednesday just to be cut again this Saturday. The depth cornerback likely will land on the practice squad if he clears waivers, but he may seek a fresh start elsewhere.

  • Chris Jones: Sent to waiver wire

Jones was waived by the Cardinals on Saturday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Jones played in 11 games and started three for the Cardinals in 2019, and he finished the year with 22 tackles and six pass breakups. He's expected to land on the practice squad if he clears waivers, and with the Cardinals only carrying four cornerbacks, he could be the first call if there's an injury.

  • Cardinals' Chris Jones: Deemed questionable

Jones (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Panthers, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Jones has been a limited participant for the last two practices. He has a consistent role in the Cardinals' secondary, and he'll be defending passes from backup Panthers QB Kyle Allen if he's able to suit up.
