  • Jalen Guyton: Signed to Raiders' practice squad

After failing to make the Raiders' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, Guyton signed with Las Vegas on the practice squad Wednesday. Guyton spent the first five years of his NFL career with the Chargers, during which he caught seven touchdowns across 46 regular-season outings. He spent the first two weeks of training camp on the active/PUP list with an undisclosed injury, but he was able to suit up for the Raiders' three preseason games, during which he registered six catches (on seven targets) for 51 yards. Guyton should get a call-up if any of the Raiders' wide receivers on the active roster were to miss time.

  • Raiders' Jalen Guyton: Comes off PUP list

The Raiders activated Guyton (undisclosed) off their active/PUP list Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Guyton had been dealing with an undisclosed injury that forced him to miss almost two weeks of Raiders practice, but it now appears as if he's moved past the issue. The North Texas product has struggled with injuries over the last two seasons, appearing in just 11 regular-season games with the Chargers. If Guyton is able to remain healthy, he's expected to serve as a solid deep threat in his first year with Las Vegas.

  • Raiders' Jalen Guyton: Starting camp on PUP list

The Raiders placed Guyton (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Tuesday. Guyton is eligible to be activated off the PUP list at any time during training camp once he is healthy enough to return from his unspecified injury. After spending the the first five years of his career with the Chargers, Guyton signed a one-year contract with the Raiders in May. He played in just eight regular-season games last season due to a leg injury, finishing with just 10 catches on 21 targets for 89 yards and one touchdown. Once he returns, Guyton should see additional opportunities on offense as the fourth wide receiver behind Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker after the Raiders placed Michael Gallup on the Reserve/Retired list Tuesday.

  • Raiders' Jalen Guyton: Links with Las Vegas

The Raiders signed Guyton to a contract Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Guyton is coming off a 2023 season in which a leg injury forced him to spend the first eight games on the PUP list, and he ended the next eight contests with a disappointing total of 10 catches (on 21 targets) for 89 yards and a touchdown. In the past, Guyton has been a serviceable deep threat, having put up a career-best 31-448-3 line on 48 targets back in 2021. He'll compete for a depth role behind Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and Michael Gallup in Las Vegas.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Won't play in Week 18

Guyton (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Guyton didn't play the first eight weeks of the season while on the PUP list with a knee injury. He returned and didn't log any catches Week 9 but then turned some heads the following week when he caught four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown. It's been a rough time for Guyton since then, however, as he's failed to record more than two receptions or 19 yards in any of his subsequent six games even with the team's top wideout, Keenan Allen (heel), missing half of those matchups. It remains to be seen where Guyton fits into the team's future plans, but he'll finished his fifth NFL campaign with disappointing totals of 10 catches on 21 targets for 89 yards and a touchdown.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: May have lost No. 3 role

Guyton caught one of his two targets for 12 yards in the 24-22 loss to the Bills on Saturday. Guyton played just 17 offensive snaps, a dramatic decline from the previous six weeks in which he averaged around 38. It appears as if the speedster has lost his job as the No. 3 wideout, as Alex Erickson played a whopping 37 snaps, although he once again did very little with the opportunities. With Easton Stick under center for the rest of the season, there's very few options that warrant fantasy consideration.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Small factor in loss

Guyton caught both of his targets for 19 yards in the 63-21 loss to the Raiders on Thursday. With the game out of reach very early into the contest, new starting quarterback Easton Stick spread the ball around plenty. Guyton's 31 offensive snaps were pretty typical, as was his lackluster usage. With head coach Brandon Staley gone and the Chargers essentially out of the playoff race, it wouldn't be surprising to see Guyton completely phased out for younger talent.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Inactive Sunday

Guyton (groin) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Packers. Guyton was added to the Chargers' Week 11 injury report after logging a limited practice Friday, and he'll end up sitting this one out. In his absence Sunday, Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston are slated to lead the team's WR corps, with Derius Davis, Simi Fehoko, Alex Erickson and Terrell Bynum also in the mix to help fill in for Guyton, whose next chance to see game action will arrive Nov. 26 against the Ravens.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Back in action Monday

Guyton (knee) is listed as active for Monday night's game against the Jets, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Guyton was activated from the reserve/PUP list Sunday and is set to make his first appearance in a game since tearing his ACL in Week 3 of last season. In his return to the mix, he'll bolster the depth of a Chargers' wide receiver corps that will be without Joshua Palmer (knee), who is out at least four games after having landed on IR. While Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston are slated to lead the unit while Palmer is out, Guyton will have a chance to compete for snaps behind the top duo with Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko. For now, however, Guyton remains a speculative fantasy option until his role in the offense is established.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Not yet ready to come off PUP list

Guyton (knee-ACL) won't come off the reserve/PUP list in Week 7. Guyton is nearing a return after sitting out the beginning part of the campaign while continuing to rehab the torn ACL he suffered in Week 3 last season. He was able to log a limited practice session both Thursday and Friday this week but isn't quite ready to make his season debut. Guyton will instead look to return next Sunday against the Bears.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Lands on PUP list

The Chargers placed Guyton (knee) on the active/PUP list Tuesday. Guyton tore his ACL in Week 3 of last season and won't be ready to participate in the initial stages of training camp. He can, however, be activated from the list in the coming days and weeks, and if/when that occurs, the 26-year-old will look to cement a depth role in a Chargers wideout corps that led by Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

  • Jalen Guyton: Headed for free agency

The Chargers didn't extend Guyton (knee) a qualifying offer or contract tender as a restricted free agent Wednesday, so he's officially an unrestricted free agent, per the NFL's transaction log. Guyton is currently rehabbing from an ACL tear he suffered during Week 3 of 2022 campaign, and it's unclear when he'll be 100 percent healthy. The undrafted wideout out of North Texas caught 59 of 103 targets for 959 yards and six touchdowns across his first two NFL seasons in Los Angeles, but he'll likely have to prove he's back to full strength before securing a new deal.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Out for season

Guyton suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's loss to the Jaguars and will miss the remainder of the 2022 campaign, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Guyton caught two of three targets for 64 yards before getting hurt on Los Angeles' meaningless final drive with the game long decided. The wideout has been a solid deep threat over the past two-plus campaigns, catching 59 passes for 959 yards and six touchdowns, so his absence will be a significant blow to the Chargers offense.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Pair of grabs in preseason opener

Guyton brought in both targets for six yards in the Chargers' 29-22 preseason loss to the Rams on Saturday night. Guyton wasn't able to do much with his pair of touches, although the teammate he's still hoping to beat out for the No. 3 receiver job, Joshua Palmer, couldn't corral any of his four targets. Guyton does have the edge on Palmer in experience after appearing in 35 games over the past three seasons, but it appears from recent practices the latter has the edge in the job battle.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Signs exclusive rights tender

Guyton officially signed his exclusive rights free agent tender Tuesday and will remain with the Chargers this coming season, Field Yates of ESPN reports. The 24-year-old finished the 2021 campaign third among Los Angeles' wide receivers in terms of yardage (448), while logging 31 receptions on 48 targets and three touchdowns in 16 games. Beyond competing for reps behind Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, Guyton could also contribute in the return game, as the Chargers haven't re-signed last season's primary returner Andre Roberts.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: To receive contract tender

The Chargers are slated to extend a contract tender to Guyton, Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reports. As a result, Guyton -- an exclusive rights free agent -- is poised to reclaim his role in the Chargers offense in 2022. The 24-year-old is coming off a 2021 campaign in which he logged 31 catches (on 48 targets) for 448 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games. This coming season Guyton will continue to work behind the team's top pass-catching options, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, while competing with Joshua Palmer and possibly others for No. 3 wideout reps.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Activated from COVID-19 list

The Chargers activated Guyton (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday. Guyton wasn't available during last week's loss to Houston, but he's been cleared with plenty of time to spare before Sunday's game against the Broncos. Mike Williams remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and while there's still a solid chance Williams returns this week as well, for now, Guyton tentatively slots in as the No. 2 wide receiver behind Keenan Allen.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Lands on COVID list

Guyton (illness) has been placed on the reserve-COVID-19 list, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. Guyton joins a growing list of Chargers on the list, and if he's unable to gain clearance to play Sunday against the Texans, Joshua Palmer would be a candidate for added snaps alongside Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Shines in win

Guyton caught all three of his targets for 87 yards and a touchdown in a 37-21 win over the Giants on Sunday. After a disappointing start to the season in which the wideout did not record a touchdown through 12 weeks, Guyton has had back-to-back strong games with at least 87-plus yards and a touchdown. The 24-year-old has shined as the Chargers' deep-threat option, catching a 59-yard touchdown pass and a 44-yard touchdown pass over the past two weeks. The wideout's deep-ball ability has opened up a lot of offensive production underneath as defenses have now started to worry about the long pass. In the absence of star wide receiver Keenan Allen (COVID-19), Guyton, along with rookie Joshua Palmer, have stepped up to keep Los Angeles' high-powered offense going.

  • Chargers' Jalen Guyton: First TD of 2021

Guyton caught all four of his targets for 90 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 41-22 win over the Bengals. Guyton made an impressive 44-yard catch against man coverage, coming down with a nifty jump ball for his first score of the 2021 season. The rarely utilized wide receiver also saw his most targets since Week 6, capitalizing on quarterback Justin Herbert's willingness to spread the ball around Sunday. Don't expect Guyton to emerge as a crucial target most weeks as the Chargers have become heavily dependent on a narrow target tree of Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Austin Ekeler.
