The Broncos signed Rapp to the practice squad Monday.
The Broncos released Rapp on Aug. 26 ahead of cutdown day. The veteran safety was unable to land an opportunity on another team's 53-man roster, so he'll return to Denver and await an opportunity for a promotion to the active roster if Talanoa Hufanga or Brandon Jones is sidelined due to injury at some point.

Taylor Rapp: Released by Denver
The Broncos released Rapp on Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
Rapp signed with the Broncos last Thursday. The strong safety was looking to make a return to the NFL after recovering from a season-ending knee injury he suffered in late October. Rapp was the starting strong safety for the Bills in 2025 before succumbing to injury, starting six games and logging 26 tackles (17 solo). The 28-year-old is now a free agent and can sign with any franchise that wants him.

Broncos' Taylor Rapp: Joining Denver
Rapp signed with the Broncos on Thursday, Matt Zenitz of CBSSports.com reports.
The eighth-year pro suffered a knee injury in late October of last season that required surgery, and then he was let go by the Bills on March 3. Now healthy again, he is joining Denver after working out for the team Aug. 12. Rapp, a second-round pick of the Rams in 2019, has started 74 of the 96 games he's played in during his career, and he has recorded over 80 tackles in four of his seven seasons.

Rapp (knee) worked out with the Broncos on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Rapp was released by the Bills on March 3 after spending the final two-plus months of the 2025 season on injured reserve with a knee injury. The veteran safety now appears to be fully recovered from the surgery he underwent in late October. Rapp has notched at least 82 total tackles in four of his seven NFL seasons leading into 2026, and if he's signed ahead of the upcoming season, he'll provide a team with an experienced option in the secondary.

Rapp will miss at least the Bills' next four contests after apparently aggravating his knee injury in the Week 6 loss to the Falcons ahead of the bye. Rapp dealt with a knee issue over the summer. Buffalo now has three safeties on injured reserve, leaving Cole Bishop, Sam Franklin and Jordan Hancock as the healthy options on the current 53-man roster.

Bills' Taylor Rapp: Set for IR stint
Rapp (knee) won't play Sunday against the Panthers, and coach Sean McDermott said Friday that Rapp will be placed on injured reserve, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
Once the Bills officially place Rapp on IR, he will be sidelined for a minimum of four games. His earliest chance to retake the field will come Nov. 20 against the Texans. The Bills are banged up at strong safety, with Damar Hamlin (pectoral) and Wande Owens (undisclosed) both already on IR.

Bills' Taylor Rapp: Dealing with knee injury
Head coach Sean McDermott told reporters that Rapp (knee) won't practice Wednesday, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
The Washington product is now dealing with an apparent knee injury following the Bills' Week 7 bye. McDermott noted that Rapp's injury is still being evaluated, but it's serious enough to hold him out of Wednesday's practice. He's played 342 defensive snaps over the Bills' first six games this season, recording 26 total tackles. Rapp likely needs to upgrade to at least limited practice participation Thursday or Friday to have a chance at playing in Sunday's matchup against the Panthers.
