Ravens' Nnamdi Madubuike: Avoids IR
The Ravens did not place Madubuike (neck) on injured reserve Sunday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
The Ravens deemed Madubuike's neck injury surmountable enough that he will likely be able to play before Week 5 of the regular season. While the star defensive tackle may not be able to suit up for Week 1, the team clearly thinks he is close enough that they will utilize a 53-man roster spot on the 28-year-old from the jump. While Madubuike finishes his recovery, Broderick Washington will likely start alongside Travis Jones and Calais Campbell on the interior defensive line.

Ravens' Nnamdi Madubuike: May not play Week 1
Head coach Jesse Minter said Monday that he didn't have a "definitive answer" for whether Madubuike (neck) will be available for the Ravens' regular-season opener against the Colts on Sunday, Sept. 13, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Madubuike suffered a serious neck injury during Week 2 of the 2025 season, but he was activated from the PUP list in late July and has been participating in training camp practices. He hasn't played in either of the Ravens' two preseason games and is unlikely to suit up Friday against the Commanders, and he's also far from a guarantee to suit up in Week 1 of the upcoming campaign. Broderick Washington and CJ Okoye would take on elevated roles at defensive end alongside Calais Campbell if Madubuike is sidelined to start the regular season.

Ravens' Nnamdi Madubuike: Activated from PUP list
Madubuike (neck) passed his physical and been removed from the active/PUP list.
His appearance on the field Wednesday marks Madubuike's first practice since suffering what was feared to be a career-threatening injury in Week 2 of the 2025 campaign, per Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun. Given the long layoff he's coming off, look for the edge rusher to be eased back into the mix, but barring any setbacks, Madubuike is poised to reclaim his key role on the Ravens' defensive line ahead of Week 1.

Ravens' Nnamdi Madubuike: Progressing in rehab from surgery
Coach Jesse Minter said Wednesday that Madubuike is "trending in a great direction" as he rehabs from the surgery he underwent in April to address a lingering neck injury, NFL.com reports.
Minter said that Madubuike was even participating in a limited fashion during the Ravens' offseason program, but there is still not a timeline for his full return to the practice field. Until he's fully healthy again, veteran free-agent acquisition Calais Campbell and 2025 sixth-rounder Aeneas Peebles could get more reps with the first team on the defensive line.

Madubuike underwent neck surgery last week, and the Ravens are optimistic he will be able to play in 2026, Jamison Hensley of ESPN reports.
The 28-year-old edge rusher suffered what was feared to be a career-threatening injury in Week 2 of the 2025 campaign, but he may have avoided a worst-case scenario. Earlier in April, Baltimore's director of strength and conditioning Scott Elliott confirmed that Madubuike has been participating in the team's voluntary workout program.
