  • Cowboys' Rashan Gary: Deal to Dallas made official

Gary was officially traded to the Cowboys from Green Bay on Wednesday, Patrik Walker of Dallas' official site reports. The Cowboys' trade for Gary in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick was made official Wednesday with the beginning of the new league year. A 2019 first-round pick, Gary will shore up a Dallas defensive front anchored at DT by All-Pro Quinnen Williams and former Green Bay teammate Kenny Clark, providing a foundation for the pass rush to get home. Walker reports that Gary will be tasked to line up both at defensive end and outside linebacker in new defensive coordinator Christian Parker's scheme, an every-down role that figures to be friendly for his fantasy value in IDP formats.

  • Packers' Rashan Gary: Deal to Dallas in the works

The Packers are finalizing a deal to send Gary to the Cowboys, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Per Schefter, the Cowboys are slated to exchange a 2027 fourth-round draft pick for Gary. Reports surfaced Friday that the 2019 first-rounder could be moved, and it appears as though that's about to happen. In 16 regular-season games in 2025, Gary recorded 45 tackles (25 solo), including 7.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one recovered fumble.

  • Packers' Rashan Gary: Remains with Green Bay

Gary remains with the Packers on Friday, but all options remain on the table regarding his future in Green Bay, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Gary posted and then deleted a farewell message earlier Friday, but it appears it was premature. It sounds like the Packers could be trying to trade the edge rusher before outright releasing him. However it shakes out, the toothpaste is already out of the tube, and it sounds like Gary's time in Green Bay could be coming to a close in the near future. Gary has two years remaining on a four-year, $96 million extension and carries a massive $28 million cap number for the 2026 season. Gary has posted back-to-back 7.5-sack seasons since signing the extension.

  • Rashan Gary: Time in Green Bay could be up

Gary doesn't expect to remain with the Packers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. The 2019 first-round pick from Michigan has spent all seven years of his NFL career with the Packers, but it appears as though the edge rusher's time with the team could be coming to a close, with all options on the table, per Pelissero. Since entering the league, Gary has notched 46.5 sacks, highlighted by 9.5- and 9.0-sack campaigns in 2021 and 2023, respectively. However, he struggled down the stretch for the Packers last season, failing to record a single sack over the team's final 11 games (including playoffs).

Gary posted four tackles (one solo) during the Packers' 10-7 loss to the Eagles on Monday. Gary and the rest of the Packers' pass rushers weren't able to get to Jalen Hurts for a sack during Monday's loss. Gary hasn't logged a sack in either of his last two games, but he still leads the Packers with 7.5 sacks through nine regular-season games, which is tied for seventh most in the NFL.

Gary logged three tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, during the Packers' 27-18 win over the Commanders on Thursday. Gary collected one of the Packers' four sacks late in the third quarter, when he took down Jayden Daniels for a 10-yard loss. • Packers' Rashan Gary: Starts with 1.5 sacks

Gary recorded seven tackles (three solo), including 1.5 sacks, in Sunday's 27-13 victory over the Lions. Gary immediately benefited from the presence of Micah Parsons on the other side of the defensive line, tying his career high in the tackles column while recording more sacks than he put up in any game during the previous campaign. Gary is still seeking the first double-digit sack season of his career, and with offenses paying plenty of attention to Parsons, he might be primed to get there in 2025.

  • Packers' Rashan Gary: Records 7.5 sacks in 2024

Gary finished the 2024 season with 47 tackles (26 solo), including 7.5 sacks, one pass breakup, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery across 17 regular-season contests. Gary started all 17 games for Green Bay and matched his previous career high with his 47 tackles. The 2019 first-rounder has logged at least 5.0 sacks in five consecutive seasons and is up to 39.0 for his career. Gary was named to his first Pro Bowl this past season and has three years left on a four-year, $96 million extension he signed with the Packers in October of 2023. Gary is equally as good defending the run as he is at rushing the passer off the edge for Green Bay.

Gary recorded 44 tackles (23 solo), 9.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two pass deflections over 17 regular-season games in 2023. Gary appeared well on his way to reaching double digits in the sack department for the first time, but he did not make a mark in that column after Week 13. He still managed to appear in every game on the schedule after seeing his 2022 campaign cut short by a torn ACL, and he will have a normal offseason heading into the 2024 campaign.

Gary registered seven tackles (five solo), three sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in Thursday's 29-22 victory over the Lions. Gary tore the ACL in his right knee at Ford Field in 2022, and that may have provided the motivation he needed to absolutely destroy Detroit's game plan in his latest trip to the stadium. He is now up to 8.5 sacks on the season, and with six games to go he is easily on pace to surpass the career-high 9.5 sacks he registered during the 2021 campaign.

Gary (knee) does not carry an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game versus New Orleans, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Gary (knee) was listed as a limited participant during practice on Wednesday's injury report, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.
