Colson landed on the NFI list after undergoing an appendectomy prior to the start of training camp. He appears to have fully recovered from the procedure, and he will be able to participate in practice and preseason games. Colson was selected by the Chargers in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 69th overall. He earned Second-Team All-Big Ten Conference honors in his final season in Michigan and led the team with 95 tackles.
