  • Raiders' Nate Hobbs: Expected to play Week 18

Raiders interim head coach Rich Bissacia said he expects Hobbs to play in Sunday's game against the Chargers after the cornerback was arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge Monday in Las Vegas, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports. "Obviously, we take that extremely serious, organizationally and certainly within our team," Bisaccia said Wednesday. "So based on what we've learned, at this time, we expect Nate to play. It's a legal matter and other than that I have really nothing else and we'll leave it at that." Bisaccia's comments suggest that the Raiders will leave it up to the NFL to decide whether Hobbs faces any punishment after the rookie fifth-round draft pick was found asleep in a vehicle parked on the exit ramp of a parking garage and then arrested after failing a field sobriety test. Hobbs' attorneys have since contested the DUI charge, so the league will presumably let the legal process play out before deciding whether Hobbs' actions warrant a fine and/or a suspension. The 22-year-old has enjoyed a strong debut campaign as the Raiders' nickel cornerback, tallying 67 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and a sack through 15 games.
