  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Quiet in playoff loss

Austin brought in three of six targets for eight yards and returned one punt for 14 yards in the Steelers' 30-6 wild-card loss to the Texans on Monday night. Austin's receiving line underscores how suffocating the Texans defense was overall, on a night when Aaron Rodgers was sacked four times and threw for only 146 yards. Austin recorded 31 receptions for 372 yards and three touchdowns on 55 targets across 14 regular-season games in 2025, adding 15 punt returns for 101 yards. The 2022 fourth-round pick is slated to hit unrestricted free agency at the start of the new league year, and given his unremarkable body of work over his first four seasons, it's likely the Steelers allow him to explore the open market.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Scores huge late TD

Austin had three receptions on seven targets for 55 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-24 win over the Ravens. Austin played the role of hero sans WR DK Metcalf (suspension) in Week 18 when he took advantage of a slip to the turf by Ravens cornerback Chidobe Awuzie in the final minute of regulation for the game-winning touchdown grab. The 26-year-old Austin was held to one reception for eight yards filling in for Metcalf last week, so this performance truly came from out of nowhere. Austin finishes the regular season with a 31-372-3 receiving line in 14 games, numbers that were good enough to register only with those playing in deeper fantasy formats. With Metcalf returning to action in the wild-card round of the playoffs, Austin possesses minimal upside for next Monday's tilt against the Texans.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Limited again Thursday

Austin (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Austin returned to practice as a limited participant Wednesday after having missed Week 17, and it's encouraging to see him string together another day of at least partial on-field reps. If he's able to upgrade to a full session Friday, Austin could avoid an injury designation entirely for Sunday's must-win divisional clash against Baltimore.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Logs limited practice

Austin (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Austin wasn't able to practice at all prior to being ruled out for Pittsburgh's loss to the Browns in Week 17, but head coach Mike Tomlin mentioned the wide receiver as a player who "definitely has a chance" to retake the field for Sunday night's contest against the Ravens. With DK Metcalf (suspension) unavailable for Week 18, and the Steelers facing a game in which the victor will secure the No. 4 seed in the AFC playoffs while the loser will be eliminated from postseason contention, Austin's availability could be crucial for Aaron Rodgers and the passing game.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Won't play Sunday against Browns

Austin (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. With Austin out and DK Metcalf suspended for two games, Varley suggests that it's "going to be all hands on deck this week" for the Steelers at the wide receiver position. With that in mind, added Week 17 snaps will be available for some combination of Adam Thielen, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Scotty Miller, Ben Skowronek and Roman Wilson, with Brandon Johnson representing a possible practice squad elevation. Additionally, QB Aaron Rodgers may turn to TEs Darnell Washington, Pat Freiermuth and Jonnu Smith more often than usual, with Pittsburgh's top two WR options on the shelf this weekend.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Good to go for Week 15

Austin (calf) does not have an injury designation for Monday's matchup against Miami. Austin was added to the injury report Friday, when he logged a limited practice session due to a calf issue. However, he was able to return to full participation Saturday and is clear to play on Monday Night Football. Austin has seen his offensive snap count trending down in recent weeks -- he hasn't been above 50 percent since Week 10 against the Chargers -- but he still figures to have a tangible role in the passing game while also working as Pittsburgh's primary punt returner.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Added to injury report Friday

Austin was limited in practice Friday due to a calf issue. Austin wasn't listed on the Steelers' initial Week 15 practice report, so it's possible he sustained a calf injury during Friday's session. Either way, the wideout's game status for Monday night's game against the Dolphins is set to be revealed Saturday. If Austin is limited or out versus Miami, Adam Thielen, Ben Skowronek (hand) and practice-squad member Marquez Valdes-Scantling would be candidates to log added snaps behind top WR DK Metcalf.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Held to 14 yards

Austin recorded two receptions on seven targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 25-10 loss to the Chargers. Austin tied DK Metcalf for the team lead in targets, also his highest mark of the season. However, the results didn't follow in a poor offensive showing from the Steelers. Austin had miscues of his own, including a dropped pass that was intercepted midway through the fourth quarter. Austin has earned at least six targets in each of three games since returning from a shoulder injury, though he has only 98 total yards in that span.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin III: Week 10 Waiver Priority List

Austin had five catches for 56 yards on six targets in Week 9 against Indianapolis, and he should continue to earn targets from Aaron Rodgers as the No. 2 receiver opposite DK Metcalf. Now, Pittsburgh could add a receiver prior to Tuesday's trade deadline, so keep an eye on what develops. But if no receiver is added then Austin could be a low-end No. 3 Fantasy receiver for the rest of the season, and he's worth adding for 1 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Paces Steelers' pass catchers

Austin recorded five receptions on six targets for 56 yards in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Colts. Austin led the Steelers' pass catchers in receptions and yards while tying Darnell Washington in targets. As is typically the case, he was targeted in short areas of the field, though he did manage gains of 18 and 14 yards primarily on yards after the catch. Austin is a key part of Pittsburgh's passing game, though he's reached 30 yards in only half of his six games, minimizing his fantasy impact.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin III: Week 9 Waiver Priority List

Austin returned from a two-game absence with a shoulder injury in Week 8 against Green Bay and had four catches for 28 yards on six targets. He could emerge as the No. 2 receiver for the Steelers opposite DK Metcalf, but keep an eye on Pittsburgh making a trade for a receiver. Austin is worth adding for 1 percent of your remaining FAB in all leagues. In deeper leagues, you can also take a flier on Roman Wilson (2 percent rostered), who had four catches for 74 yards and a touchdown on five targets against the Packers. Prior to that game, even with Austin out, Wilson had three catches for 29 yards on three targets, so don't expect much from him now that Austin is healthy.

Austin returned from a two-game absence with a shoulder injury in Week 8 against Green Bay and had four catches for 28 yards on six targets. • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Tallies 28 yards in defeat

Austin secured four of six targets for 28 yards during Sunday's 35-25 loss to the Packers. Austin missed Pittsburgh's last two games due to a shoulder injury, but he played 78 percent of the team's offensive snaps in his return to the field Sunday, which ranked second among the team's wide receivers. However, DK Metcalf and Roman Wilson accounted for most of the Steelers' receiving yards Sunday, while Austin was held under 30 yards for the third time in his last four appearances. Austin has secured 14 of 23 targets for 167 yards and two touchdowns over his first five outings in 2025.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Returns to practice

Austin (shoulder) is returning to practice Wednesday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that he's optimistic about Austin returning for Sunday's game against the Packers. Austin hasn't played or practiced since Week 4, missing a bye and two games in the interim. The backup wideouts haven't done much in Austin's absence, with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith instead relying on his tight ends even more than he usually does. Austin was a pleasant surprise for Pittsburgh early in the season with 126 yards and two TDs on 15 targets over his first three games.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Could be back for Week 8

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that he's "optimistic" that Austin (shoulder) will be able to play in Sunday's game against the Packers, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. Austin has missed the Steelers' last two games with a shoulder injury, but Tomlin noted that the wideout has made enough progress in his recovery to be integrated back into practices this week. The extent of Austin's participation in practice will ultimately dictate whether he plays Sunday, but if the 26-year-old is able to turn in at least one full session by Friday, he'll have good odds of gaining clearance to suit up. Through four appearances this season, Austin has recorded 10 receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns on 17 targets.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Sits out practice

Austin (shoulder) didn't participate in Tuesday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Still on the mend from the shoulder injury he sustained in a Week 4 win over the Vikings in Dublin, Austin has yet to resume practicing and appears to be trending toward missing a second straight game Thursday against the Bengals. While Austin was sidelined for this past Sunday's win over the Browns, Scotty Miller and Roman Wilson both benefited from upticks in playing time behind No. 1 wideout DK Metcalf but combined for just one reception.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Estimated as DNP on Monday

Austin (shoulder) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Coach Mike Tomlin said earlier Monday that Austin is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Bengals after he missed the Week 6 win over the Browns following his injury Week 4. Scotty Miller, Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek would be in line for increased offensive snaps Week 7 if Austin is unable to play, but none of that aforementioned trio would carry any sort of fantasy value in season-long leagues.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Ruled out for Sunday

Austin (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns after not practicing this week. Austin was forced out of a Week 4 win over the Vikings after logging 27 snaps and catching both of his targets for 13 yards, and he'll target a potential return to action next Thursday night against the Bengals. In Austin's absence this weekend, Ben Skowronek, Scotty Miller and Roman Wilson are candidates to see added opportunities behind WR1 DK Metcalf.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Limited coming out of bye week

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Austin (shoulder) will be a limited participant in practice to begin Week 6 prep, but the wideout could ramp up his workload later in the week and potentially be ready to play Sunday against the Browns, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Austin was forced out early in the fourth quarter of the Steelers' 24-21 win over the Vikings in Dublin in Week 4 due to the shoulder injury, but a Week 5 bye has afforded him some time to heal. Though Tomlin noted that Austin aggressively attacked his rehab over the bye week, the Steelers aren't ready to turn him loose for full contact just yet. However, if Austin is able to advance to full participation Friday in the Steelers' final practice of the week, he should have a good chance at suiting up against Cleveland.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Struggles against Seattle

Austin recorded one reception on four targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 31-17 loss to Seattle. Austin looked like he was starting a breakout season after a strong Week 1 showing, but his performance took a significant dip in Week 2. Beyond the lackluster stat line, he ran the wrong route in the end zone late in the third quarter, with the ball ultimately being picked by Seattle. Austin is likely to continue to earn snaps, but his production will also remain inconsistent.
