  • B.J. Baylor: Gets let go

Baylor was waived by the Falcons on Monday with an injury designation, Scott Bair of the team's official site reports.

Baylor was on the Falcons' practice squad last season and had signed a reserve/future contract with the team in January. It is not yet known what the injury is or how severe it may be.

  • Falcons' B.J. Baylor: Gets new contract from Falcons

Atlanta signed Baylor to a reserve/future contract Monday.

Baylor signed with the Packers in May of 2022 as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State, but he was waived in mid-August. The running back then went unsigned before joining the Falcons' practice squad Sept. 15. Baylor recorded 227 carries for 1,337 yards and 13 touchdowns during his final collegiate season, and he'll look to carve out a roster spot as a potential backup behind Avery Williams, Tyler Allgeier and Cordarrelle Patterson this offseason.

  • B.J. Baylor: Joins practice squad

Baylor signed with the Falcons' practice squad Thursday.

Baylor went undrafted out of Oregon State in the spring, then linked up with the Packers before getting waived Aug. 16. His signing will bolster Atlanta's running back depth with Damien Williams (ribs) currently questionable for Sunday's contest against the Rams.

  • B.J. Baylor: Waived by Green Bay

The Packers waived Baylor on Tuesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Baylor rushed seven times for 19 yards and caught two receptions for 75 yards -- including a 68-yard catch and run -- during his NFL preseason debut. However, he's among the first wave of cuts ahead of Tuesday's 85-man roster deadline. He'll likely be an intriguing option for teams lacking running back depth after putting together a solid training camp culminating in a breakout performance last Friday, but he was always a long shot to make Green Bay's initial 53-man roster with Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Patrick Taylor and Kylin Hill (knee) all returning.

  • Packers' B.J. Baylor: Makes mark in pro debut

Baylor had seven carries for 19 yards and two receptions for 75 yards in Friday's preseason game against the 49ers.

Baylor did not do much on most of his nine touches, but he did at least make a mark with a 68-yard catch and run early in the second half. Baylor has been with the Packers since signing with the team as an undrafted free agent back in May, but he checks in no higher than fifth on the depth chart among healthy Packers running backs.
