Bears' Jonathan Ford: Joins active roster
The Bears signed Ford off their practice squad Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Ford has appeared in three games for the Bears this season, failing to record a stat across 36 defensive snaps. Now back with the active roster, he's expected to play a depth role on Chicago's defensive line in the Week 8 matchup against the Ravens.

Packers' Jonathan Ford: Officially off IR
The Packers activated Ford (calf) to their active roster Monday, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.
Ford had missed the Packers' first seven games this season on injured reserve after sustaining a calf injury in late August, but Monday's activation suggests the Miami product has moved past the issue. In a corresponding move, the Packers released long snapper Matthew Orzech.

Packers' Jonathan Ford: Practice window opens Wednesday
The Packers designated Ford (calf) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Ford began the regular season on IR due to a calf injury he sustained during the Packers' preseason finale in late August. He will now have a 21-day window to return to practice and, ultimately, be added to the active roster. If Ford is not added to the roster by the end of the window, he will revert to IR and stay on there for the rest of the season. Ford has yet to play in a regular-season game since being selected by the Packers in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Packers' Jonathan Ford: Picked up by Green Bay
The Packers selected Ford in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 234th overall.
Ford is a big-bodied defensive tackle out of Miami (FL) who checks in at 6-foot-5 and 333 pounds. He comes to the league after five years with the Hurricanes, where he made 30 starts. His statistics don't jump off the page -- 60 career tackles -- but his projected role will be occupying space in the middle. Ford will apprentice behind Kenny Clark and Tedarrell Slaton in Green Bay.
