Flournoy caught his only target for 12 yards in Sunday's loss to the Lions.
The 2024 sixth-round pick made his first career catch in the third quarter with Dallas down 37-9, but Flournoy then fumbled it over to Detroit and didn't see another target. Snaps have opened up at wide receiver with Brandin Cooks (knee) on IR, but as yet Flournoy hasn't been able to claim much of a role, and Sunday's fumble won't do him any favors heading into the Cowboys' Week 7 bye.

Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Debut delayed
Rotowire
Flournoy (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Browns, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Flournoy, who is listed as No. 6 on the Cowboys' wide receiver depth chart will be the odd man out from their receiving corps Week 1. The 24-year-old was selected in the sixth round by Dallas in the 2024 Draft and he'll now look to Week 2 against the Saints for his next opportunity to suit up.

Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Shows nose for end zone
Rotowire
Flournoy caught all three of his targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason loss to the Chargers.
The 2024 sixth-round pick hauled in a TD in both of the last two preseason games, which may have been enough to lock him into a spot on the 53-man roster. Flournoy isn't likely to see much volume in the regular season, but with CeeDee Lamb still holding out and Brandin Cooks (knee) banged up, Dallas' depth at wideout could be tested early in the year.

Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Dealing with knee issue
Rotowire
Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said Sunday that Flournoy is day-to-day with a knee injury, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
McCarthy added that Flournoy's issue isn't "classified as anything serious," according to Nicole Hutchison of the Cowboys' official site. The 6-foot-1 wide receiver out of Southeast Missouri State was selected in the sixth round after a dazzling performance as the 2024 NFL Combine, and he'll likely compete for one of the final spots in Dallas' receiver room this training camp. Top wideout CeeDee Lamb also is holding out of training camp while awaiting a contract extension, so Flournoy's absence should open up some valuable opportunities for other fringe roster players like Racey McMath and Jalen Moreno-Cropper.

Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Dallas picks up in sixth round
Rotowire
The Cowboys selected Flournoy in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 216th overall.
Flournoy (6-foot-1, 202 pounds) was a non-entity as a recruit and had to toil in the Missouri-area FCS ranks for four years before finally breaking out with Southeast Missouri State, but his numbers were excellent from that point and he followed it up with a dominant showing at the NFL Combine (4.44-second 40-yard dash, 39.5-inch vertical, 132-inch broad jump). Flournoy might be raw and doesn't have much of a developmental window at nearly 25 years old, but if his slow start can be explained by circumstances, he could prove a steal for Dallas.
