Jaguars' Travis Hunter: Feeling fit and fast
Hunter (knee) said Friday that he has put on 10 pounds of muscle and is running 21-22.5 miles per hour, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Hunter seems to be progressing well in his recovery from season-ending LCL surgery, and he has mixed into some team drills at practice, playing mostly with the defense at cornerback while occasionally mixing in with the offense at wide receiver. The second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft said he feels lighter on his feet as a result of the added muscle and that he's hoping to reach 23 miles per hour, which would put him in elite top-speed territory alongside the likes of Tyreek Hill (knee).

Jaguars' Travis Hunter: Practicing at training camp
Hunter (knee) is participating in Wednesday's training camp session, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
Hunter is taking his first individual reps on defense, Shipley reports. The 2025 first-rounder is likely to be eased in during the early portion of camp, as he's working his way back from season-ending LCL surgery, but there doesn't appear to be any concerns about his status for Week 1 at this stage. Hunter is expected to be utilized at both wide receiver and cornerback in 2026.

Jaguars' Travis Hunter: Likely to be eased back in
Though Hunter (knee) is on track to participate in training camp, Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union relays that the CB/WR's snaps will likely be managed early on.
As O'Halloran notes, Hunter will be seeing his first team work since Oct. 30, 2025, so the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft figures to be eased back into the mix as he rebounds from an LCL injury. As the coming campaign approaches, the Jaguars plan to utilize Hunter as both a cornerback and wideout, with the 23 year-old's fantasy lineup utility in formats that don't factor in IDP stats hinging on what sort of workload he's able to carve out in a crowded Jaguars pass-catching corps that also includes fellow WRs Brian Thomas, Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington, as well as TE Brenton Strange.

Jaguars' Travis Hunter: Still fully on track for camp
Hunter (knee) is expected to be fully cleared for the start of training camp, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Hunter remains on track to be fully cleared for training camp after undergoing surgery to repair the LCL injury that ended his rookie season, as GM James Gladstone first said back in May. Jacksonville still plans to use him on both sides of the ball, which clouds Hunter's fantasy ceiling in an already crowded WR corps. Still, a strong camp would give Hunter a path to establish a defined role on offense before Week 1, even with all of Brian Thomas, Jakobi Meyers, Parker Washington and recently extended tight end Brenton Strange vying for targets from quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Jaguars' Travis Hunter: Expected to play both WR and CB
Jaguars GM James Gladstone said Wednesday that Hunter (knee) should be a "full go" for training camp and will continue playing on both sides of the ball, per The Rich Eisen Show.
Gladstone made similar comments about positional expectations in January, saying Hunter will play on both sides of the ball (without elaborating on the extent). Jacksonville brass may not even have an answer there internally, after Hunter's rookie season was cut short by an LCL tear at the end of October. Fellow WRs Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington then emerged down the stretch, teaming up with Brian Thomas to form a solid trio at the position. All three are still under contract, whereas Jacksonville lost CB Greg Newsome to the Giants in free agency, leaving a clear opening for a starting job. Conventional wisdom right now suggests Hunter will fill that job while working in a part-time role on offense. It's a reasonable expectation, yet best viewed as an evolving situation rather than a locked-in plan. For now, Hunter is a limited participant in the offseason program, with early workouts unlikely to provide any meaningful hint about his NFL future.
