It remains to be seen what sort of injury Holcomb is dealing with. When healthy, he projects to compete for a depth role in Tampa Bay.

Buccaneers' Ruben Holcomb: Signed to futures deal
Holcomb signed a futures contract with Tampa Bay on Monday, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
Holcomb spent most of his rookie season in 2018 on the Buccaneers' practice squad. He'll set his sights on securing a backup role on the active roster in 2019.

Ruben Holcomb: Joins Tampa's practice squad
The Buccaneers signed Holcomb to their practice squad Tuesday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
The 23-year-old originally signed with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent in May and played in all four preseason games, even starting the exhibition finale. Holcomb will serve as organizational depth as he looks to continue honing his skills following a four-year career at the University of Indianapolis.
