Saints' Chris Olave: Remains limited at minicamp
Saints head coach Kellen Moore said Tuesday that Olave (illness) will remain limited at mandatory minicamp, as he was during voluntary OTAs, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Olave is practicing Monday but not participating in team drills, per Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. The star wide receiver is continuing his recovery from January treatment for a blood clot which caused him to miss Week 18 of last season. Moore said there are "no issues" with Olave's recovery progress and that the team is simply avoiding any risks during contact drills. Rookie first-round pick Jordyn Tyson (undisclosed) also remains limited at mandatory minicamp, but it doesn't appear that New Orleans has serious concerns about the status of either player for the start of training camp.

Saints' Chris Olave: Limited at OTAs after blood clot
Olave has been limited to individual drills at OTAs after undergoing treatment for a blood clot in January, Matthew Paras of Nola.com reports.
"[Olave] hasn't been able to do the team activities obviously throughout OTAs," said Saints coach Kellen Moore. "The blood clot was related to not participating in team and some of those things." For his part, Olave told reporters that it took only a week to feel normal again when he first got treatment for the blood clot back in January (missing Week 18 in the process). It's apparently a longer process to get clearance for full practice participation, with Olave saying, "I just put my best foot forward, (and am) just trying to do everything right so I can be healthy at the beginning of the year."

Saints' Chris Olave: Talking extension with New Orleans
Saints GM Mickey Loomis said Monday that talks with Olave (illness) regarding a contact extension have been positive, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
"Obviously we'd love to have something done sooner than later, and I'm sure Chris would, as well, but we're not there yet," Loomis said. Olave is headed into the final year of his rookie deal and is set to play on the fifth-year team option for $15.493 million in 2026 if the sides are unable to come to an agreement. After appearing in just eight games in 2024 due to concussion issues, Olave played in 16 regular-season contests last season before missing the Week 18 finale with a blood clot in his lung. Olave ended up having a career year, posting 100 catches for 1,163 yards and nine touchdowns on 156 targets, all career highs for the 25-year-old. Olave is likely to command north of $33 million per year on a new contract.
