Guerendo (foot/hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Miami, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Guerendo didn't practice this week and thus appears in danger of missing time beyond Sunday. His absence leaves Patrick Taylor and Israel Abanikanda atop the depth chart at running back, with Ke'Shawn Vaughn likely to be elevated from the practice squad before Sunday. Taylor filled in as the lead back when Guerendo missed a chunk of San Francisco's Week 14 game with a foot injury, but that doesn't necessarily mean Taylor will dominate carries Sunday afternoon with more time to prepare for Guerendo's absence.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Garners 75 total yards in loss
Rotowire
Guerendo rushed 16 times for 57 yards and brought in all four targets for 18 yards in the 49ers' 12-6 loss to the Rams on Thursday night.
Guerendo overcame the foot sprain he'd suffered in the Week 14 win over the Bears on Sunday to suit up and handle all of San Francisco's running back touches. However, the rookie surprisingly found some tough sledding against a Rams defense that has been beatable on the ground at times this season. Nevertheless, Guerendo impressively handled a solid workload in wet conditions and finished as the co-leader in receptions as well, and he'll have a secure fantasy floor as the clear lead back when the 49ers travel to face the Dolphins on Sunday, Dec. 22.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Misses another practice
Rotowire
Guerendo (foot) won't participate in Tuesday's walk-through practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Guerendo will go down as a non-participant on the 49ers' second injury report of the week. With the team facing a quick turnaround ahead of a Thursday night matchup with the Rams, the rookie running back looks like he may be facing an uphill battle to gain clearance after exiting a Week 14 win over the Bears with a sprained foot. Guerendo looked good in his first NFL start, gaining 78 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries to go with two catches for 50 yards. If the Louisville product ends up missing Thursday's game, Patrick Taylor, Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Israel Abanikanda would represent the 49ers' available options at running back.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Listed as DNP on Monday
Rotowire
Guerendo (foot) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Guerendo's first career start Sunday against the Bears was fruitful until he exited in the fourth quarter due to a foot injury. Prior to his departure, he notched 128 yards from scrimmage and two rushing TDs on 17 touches. Coach Kyle Shanahan revealed the nature of the injury Monday, calling it a sprain and the running back day-to-day, per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com. Shanahan also told Lindsey Pallares of the 49ers' official site that the team will "evaluate him over the next few days and see if he's got a shot" to play Thursday against the Rams. If Guerendo ultimately isn't able to go Week 15, he'll pass off the backfield to Patrick Taylor, while Israel Abanikanda (inactive Week 14) and practice-squad member Ke'Shawn Vaughn (two carries for four yards Sunday) will be the reserve options.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Diagnosed with foot sprain
Rotowire
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Guerendo has been diagnosed with a foot sprain and will be considered day-to-day heading into Thursday's game against the Rams, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Shanahan said that the team will "evaluate [Guerendo] over the next few days, to see if he'll have a shot" to suit up for Thursday Night Football, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Before exiting Sunday's 38-13 win over the Bears in the fourth quarter, Guerendo compiled 128 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns while operating as San Francisco's lead backfield option. In the event that Guerendo isn't able to play Thursday, Patrick Taylor will be the next man up at running back, with Christian McCaffrey (knee), Jordan Mason (ankle) and Elijah Mitchell (hamstring) all on IR. The 49ers also have Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Israel Abanikanda available behind Taylor.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: May have foot sprain
Rotowire
Coach Kyle Shanahan said after Sunday's 38-13 win over the Bears that Guerendo possibly has a foot sprain, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Guerendo exited in the fourth quarter due to a foot injury after compiling 128 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns. If Guerendo joins Christian McCaffrey (knee), Jordan Mason (ankle) and Elijah Mitchell (hamstring) on the sidelines Thursday against the Rams, Patrick Taylor would be the next man up in a 49ers backfield that also includes Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Israel Abanikanda. A potential return timeline for Guerendo has yet to be established.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: RBs to Start
Rotowire
Guerendo is the starting running back for the 49ers with Christian McCaffrey (knee) and Jordan Mason (ankle) out, and Guerendo is worth using as a No. 2 running back in all leagues in Week 14. Chicago has allowed 11 running backs to score at least 12.4 PPR points this season, including four in the past three games, and Guerendo scored 19.2 PPR points in his lone outing this season with at least 11 total touches, which was Week 8 against Dallas. We'll see who the 49ers use to share touches with Guerendo, but the runway is clear for him to have a strong finish to the season, starting with this game against the Bears.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Week 14 Waiver Priority List
Rotowire
Christian McCaffrey (knee) and Jordan Mason (ankle) are going on injured reserve after both were injured in Week 13 at Buffalo. That means Guerendo will be the No. 1 running back for San Francisco for the remainder of the year. He should be considered at least a top-20 Fantasy running back in all leagues moving forward, and he's worth whatever FAB you have left to make sure you can add him. He only has two games this season with double digits in carries, but he looked impressive in both. He had 10 carries for 99 yards in Week 6 at Seattle, which included a 76-yard run to end the game. And in Week 8 against Dallas, when Mason injured his shoulder, Guerendo took over with 14 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 17 yards on four targets. Patrick Taylor (1 percent rostered) is expected to be the No. 2 running back behind Guerendo, and Taylor is worth adding in deeper leagues for 1 percent of your remaining FAB. But Guerendo has the chance to be a difference maker and should be the top priority off the waiver wire in Week 14.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Week 14 Adds (RB Preview)
Rotowire
Whatever you have left in your FAB bag should be spent on Guerendo if he's available. He has two games with double-digit touches this season, and he averaged 14.6 PPR FPPG in those two games. As long as he stays healthy, he'll be a borderline top-12 running back in Week 14 and the Fantasy playoffs. The next-man-up philosophy in this offense worked with Jordan Mason earlier this year and has worked with a handful of running backs in the Shanahan era. Mitchell is a potential league winner.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Lead role awaits
Rotowire
Guerendo is expected to take over as the 49ers' lead back for the remainder of the regular season after head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that both Christian McCaffrey (knee) and Jordan Mason (ankle) are on track to be placed on injured reserve this week, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Shanahan noted that McCaffrey is facing a six-week recovery for the PCL sprain he sustained in Sunday's loss to the Bills, while Mason is dealing with a high-ankle sprain that will keep him out through Week 17, and quite likely, the Jan. 5 regular-season finale in Arizona. The injuries vault Guerendo to the top of the depth chart as the lone healthy back on the 53-man roster, though the 49ers are expected to elevate Patrick Taylor from their practice squad and add another running back to provide further depth ahead of this Sunday's game against the Bears. A rookie fourth-round pick out of Louisville, Guerero has seen limited action this season but has averaged a strong 5.9 yards per carry while scoring two touchdowns on his 42 totes and adding five catches for 19 yards on six targets. Guerendo is a size/speed specimen at six-foot and 221 pounds who recorded a 4.33-second 40-yard dash time at the NFL Scouting Combine. With a three-down role likely in the offing for the final five weeks of the season, Guerendo will be the top waiver-wire priority in fantasy leagues where he's available.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Week 9 Waiver Priority List
Rotowire
The 49ers are hopeful Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) will return after their bye in Week 9, but we know that's not guaranteed. And Jordan Mason (shoulder) continues to deal with his injury, which knocked him out of Week 8 against Dallas. Guerendo took over against the Cowboys and had 14 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 17 yards on four targets, and he's worth adding in all leagues for at least 10 percent of your remaining FAB. If McCaffrey is healthy, then Guerendo might not be a factor for San Francisco, but if McCaffrey remains out, along with Mason still hurt, then Guerendo would be a starter in all leagues in Week 10 against Tampa Bay.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Stashes (RB Preview)
Rotowire
Guerendo is on bye this week, and Christian McCaffrey could be back next week, so don't spend much. But Guerendo just turned 17 touches into 19.2 PPR Fantasy points and is averaging more than six yards per carry. He needs to be rostered.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Takes back seat with starter active
Rotowire
Guerendo rushed once for two yards and caught his only target for five yards in Sunday's 28-18 loss to Kansas City.
Guerendo was coming off of his best game as a pro last week (10-99-0), but the rookie took a back seat to Jordan Mason (shoulder) who was able to suit up after suffering a sprained AC joint against the Seahawks in Week 6. The 24-year-old Guerendo saw just two touches when the dust settled from Sunday's loss, fumbling on his lone carry despite not losing possession. With Mason handling his usual workload and Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) nearing a return, it appears that Guerendo can safely be returned to the waiver wire ahead of next Sunday's tilt against the Cowboys.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Season-high 22 yards
Rotowire
Guerendo rushed five times for 22 yards and was not targeted in Sunday's 24-23 loss to Arizona.
Guerendo backed up Jordan Mason (14-89-0) as the rookie had been through the previous four games this season. The 24-year-old Guerendo produced his highest rushing total of his young career while returning a kick for 32 yards in the upset loss. There isn't enough volume currently for the Louisville product to warrant fantasy consideration against the Seahawks on Thursday.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Fumbles lone touch on offense
Rotowire
Guerendo lost a fumble on his lone carry Sunday, failing to gain any yards while earning zero targets in a blowout win over the Patriots.
Guerendo had a nightmarish game that resulted in a negative fantasy score for anyone bold enough to play the sparsely-used backup against New England. In an effort to not be too harsh on the rookie, it should be noted that he gained 23 yards on San Francisco's only kickoff return Sunday. While Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) mends on IR, it would take another injury to current starter Jordan Mason to give Guerendo fantasy value in most leagues heading into a Week 5 tilt against Arizona next Sunday.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Earns five carries Sunday
Rotowire
Guerendo rushed five times for 19 yards in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Rams.
The five carries marked a new high-water mark for the rookie after receiving just one carry for no gain in his first two appearances with San Francisco. Guerendo was spelling fill-in starter Jordan Mason (19-77-0) on Sunday, a situation that could repeat itself against the Patriots on Sunday. The 2024 fourth-round pick only warrants fantasy consideration in the event that Mason is unable to suit up in the coming weeks.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: No touches on 13 snaps
Rotowire
Guerendo (groin) suited up for Monday's season opener against the Jets but did not record a touch in a 32-19 win.
Guerendo made the 49ers' 53-man roster but was battling a groin injury heading into Week 1. The fourth-round pick out of Louisville got the green light and wound up logging 10 snaps on special teams and three on offense. Starter Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) did not suit up for this contest, allowing Jordan Mason (28-147-1) to go off against the Jets. Guerendo appears to be next in line should San Francisco need a runner behind CMC or Mason this season.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Set to suit up in season opener
Rotowire
Guerendo (groin) practiced in full Saturday and doesn't have an injury designation for Monday's Week 1 contest against the Jets.
Guerendo was a limited participant in each of San Francisco's first two practices of the week after missing all of last week due to a groin injury. He is in line to make his NFL debut Monday, though, after returning to a full practice session Saturday. Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) is listed as questionable for the opener against the Jets but has stated that he's definitely suiting up, so Guerendo will likely see limited work in the running game behind the star tailback and backup Jordan Mason.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Remains limited
Rotowire
Guerendo (groin) remained limited in practice Friday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
The rookie missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury and then hurt his groin in late August a week after returning to practice. With Christian McCaffrey (calf) on track to play and Guerendo having taken very few practice reps this summer, there's not much chance of Guerendo having a significant role Week 1 even if he ends up being healthy enough to play.

49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Opens week as limited participant
Rotowire
Guerendo (groin) is practicing on a limited basis Thursday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Guerendo spent the early portion of training camp sidelined due to a hamstring injury, and he then tweaked his groin after returning for San Francisco's preseason finale. The rookie fourth-round pick will have two more chances to upgrade to full participation in practice ahead of Monday's regular-season opener against the Jets. Meanwhile, top running back Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) will also be limited Thursday, though he's expected to be available Week 1.
