Rotowire
Washington designated Jean-Baptiste (ankle) for return to practice from its injured reserve list Wednesday.
Jean-Baptiste has spent the Commanders' last five games on the sidelines due to an ankle issue he picked up in Week 6 at Baltimore, but he now appears to be on track to return to action soon. His name will be one to watch for when Washington releases its last official practice reports of the week Thursday and Friday.

Commanders' Javontae Jean-Baptiste: Sustains right ankle injury
Rotowire
Head coach Dan Quinn told reporters Monday that Jean-Baptiste sustained a right ankle injury in Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Ravens, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
The 2024 seventh-round pick out of Notre Dame played 33 total snaps (27 defensive and six on special teams) and recorded two total tackles in Sunday's loss, but it appears he picked up an ankle injury in the process. Jean-Baptiste's practice participation throughout the week will provide the best indication on whether the rookie can suit up in Week 7, when the Commanders host the Panthers.

Commanders' Javontae Jean-Baptiste: Adds to D-Line depth in D.C.
Rotowire
The Commanders selected Jean-Baptiste in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 222nd overall.
Jean-Baptiste secured a full-time starting role in his sixth collegiate season at Notre Dame after transferring from Ohio State. He made good on the opportunity by tallying 10 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks and is regarded as a technically solid player without standout athleticism. Jean-Baptiste is likely to get a long look in training camp, but his ultimate destination is likely a practice squad to further develop.
