Vikings' Jordan Mason: Takes over for injured starter
Mason took six carries for 47 yards while catching his only target for one yard in Sunday's 26-0 loss to the Seahawks.
Mason took over lead back duties after starter Aaron Jones (shoulder) exited the contest early in the second half. The 26-year-old Mason finished as Minnesota's leading rusher after gashing Seattle's defense on limited opportunities. It is currently unclear if Jones will be forced to miss any time with the shoulder injury, but fantasy managers should monitor the situation after Mason thrived in the starter's absence earlier in the schedule. Minnesota's backup averaged 15.0 carries for 70.5 yards with four touchdowns scored in four spot-starts spanning Weeks 3 through 7. If Jones were to miss next Sunday's matchup against Washington, then Mason would instantly become a hot waiver target in Week 14.

Vikings' Jordan Mason: Efficient with eight carries Sunday
Mason rushed eight times for 42 yards in the Vikings' 23-6 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
The majority of Mason's production came on one carry, a game-long 22-yard scamper. That also helped him to the team lead in rushing yards, and he finished the afternoon with just one fewer carry than backfield mate Aaron Jones. Mason should continue operating in a relatively robust role on the ground in a Week 13 road matchup against the Seahawks, although his minuscule participation in the passing game does cap his overall upside.

Vikings' Jordan Mason: Gets six touches to Jones' 19
Mason rushed six times for 45 yards and a touchdown and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Bears.
Mason didn't get many opportunities as the Vikings played catch-up for most of the game, so superior pass catcher Aaron Jones out-touched Mason 19-6. Mason made the most of his limited chances, breaking free for a 16-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. With Jones operating as the top option in Minnesota's backfield heading into a Week 12 trip to Green Bay, Mason may not get many carries against the stout Packers run defense.

Vikings' Jordan Mason: Works behind Jones
Mason rushed the ball four times for 25 yards in Sunday's 27-19 loss to the Ravens. He added one reception on one target for six yards.
Mason had maintained at least an even split with Aaron Jones when both are healthy this campaign, but he matched his season low in touches Sunday. Jones out-touched Mason 12-5, including both a goal-line opportunity and the majority of targets to the position. Given that Jones was questionable with a shoulder injury heading into the game, the workload split doesn't seem to bode well for Mason going forward.

Vikings' Jordan Mason: Accrues 37 total yards in win
Mason rushed 10 times for 36 yards and brought in his only target for one yard in the Vikings' 27-24 win over the Lions on Sunday.
Mason opened the game splitting work as customary with Aaron Jones, but the latter's exit early in the third quarter due to a shoulder injury afforded more opportunity for the former. Mason still found running room mostly at a premium against a talented Lions run defense, and while Jones' inability to return to the game would seemingly portend a potentially serious injury, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports the veteran back has an AC joint sprain and believes he'll be available for a Week 10 home matchup against the Ravens.
