Lions' Penei Sewell: Returns to practice
Sewell (shoulder) was a limited participant at practice Thursday.
Sewell was able to return to the practice field after sitting out the first session of the week Wednesday with a shoulder issue. The offensive tackle will have one more chance to log a full practice before Sunday's matchup with Washington.

Lions' Penei Sewell: No practice Wednesday
Sewell (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday.
Sewell has been on the injury report throughout the season with a variety of issues, and he exited Detroit's Week 9 loss with a lower-body injury. He instead popped up on the injury report with a shoulder issue ahead of a Week 10 matchup against the Commanders. Sewell's progress throughout the rest of the week should provide a clearer indication of his availability.

Lions' Penei Sewell: Nursing lower-body injury
Sewell sustained a lower-body injury during the Lions' 27-24 loss to the Vikings on Sunday, Justin Rogers of Detroit Football Network reports.
Sewell was also poked in the eye prior to his lower-body injury but didn't end up missing a single offensive snap. Head coach Dan Campbell told reporters after Sunday's game that Sewell will undergo more tests to determine the severity of the injury, but the 2021 first-rounder is in jeopardy of missing the Lions' Week 10 clash against the Commanders this Sunday. Dan Skipper entered the game at left tackle for Taylor Decker after the latter sustained a knee injury, so the Lions may have to turn to Kayode Awosika and Trystan Colon to fill in at right tackle if Sewell is not cleared to play against Washington.
