Julius Welschof: Joins Steelers' practice squad
Pittsburgh signed Welschof to its practice squad Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Welschof was waived from Pittsburgh's practice squad with a knee injury prior to Week 1, but he's now healthy and back with the team ahead of Week 13. With Alex Highsmith struggling to get back to full strength from a lingering ankle injury, it makes some sense that the Steelers are adding a potential depth option on the edge.

Julius Welschof: Let go with injury settlement
Welschof (knee) was waived off the Steelers' injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Welschof sustained a knee injury during the Steelers' preseason finale against the Lions this past Saturday. He was set to miss the entire 2024 season after being placed on IR, but he will now be able to sign with a team once he's fully recovered from his injury.

The Steelers placed Welschof (knee) on their injured reserve list Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
Welschof picked up a knee issue during Pittsburgh's last preseason game at Detroit, and it looks like he'll now spend the entire campaign working to recover. He still hasn't played a regular-season NFL snap.

Steelers' Julius Welschof: Nursing knee injury
Welschof sustained a knee injury during the Steelers' 24-17 preseason loss to the Lions on Saturday, Nick Farabaugh of Steelers Breakdown reports.
Welschof had his best performance of the preseason Saturday, when he registered 2.0 sacks in the first half. He's competing for a depth spot at outside linebacker behind starters T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith. A multi-week injury would hurt Welschof's already slim chance at making the Steelers' 53-man roster at the conclusion of training camp.
