  • Packers' Quay Walker: Double-digit stops in Week 9

Walker recorded 12 total tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 24-14 loss to the Lions. The 2022 first-round pick from Georgia played well in his first game back from a concussion, leading the Packers' defense total tackles. Despite missing Week 8's win over the Jaguars, Walker still ranks first on Green Bay's defense in total tackles with 64 across eight appearances this season. He's expected to remain a viable IDP option after the Packers' Week 10 bye.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Past concussion

Head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters Wednesday that Walker has cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Walker missed the Packers' Week 8 win over the Jaguars after sustaining a concussion the week prior, but it now appears he's moved past the issue. The 2022 first-round pick from Georgia has tallied 52 total tackles, including 1.5 sacks, through seven appearances this season. He's expected to start alongside Edgerrin Cooper as one of Green Bay's top inside linebackers in Week 9, when the Packers host the Lions.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Won't play vs. Jacksonville

Walker (concussion) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. Walker was able to log consecutive limited practices to end the week, but the 2022 first-round pick hasn't progressed through the league's concussion protocols enough to be cleared for Sunday's contest. Eric Wilson should see increased work with the Packers' first-team defense with Walker sidelined.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Questionable for Sunday

Walker (concussion) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars, Wes Hodklewicz of the Packers' official site reports. Walker was able to practice in a limited fashion both Thursday and Friday; however, he must pass through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in order to suit up Sunday. If Walker is unable to do so, expect Eric Wilson to see increased work with the Packers' first-team defense.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Able to practice Thursday

Walker (concussion) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice. Walker was able to upgrade from a DNP on Wednesday to a limited participant Thursday, but he still has more work to do as he progresses through the league's five-step concussion protocols. Even if he were to practice in full Friday, that doesn't guarantee that he'll be able to suit up against the Jaguars on Sunday.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Remains in concussion protocol

Walker (concussion) was listed as a non-participant at Wednesday's practice. Walker was diagnosed with a concussion following the Packers' win over the Texans on Sunday. He'll have two more chances to return to practice this week prior to Sunday's game against the Jaguars, but he'll also need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist before he's removed from the five-step concussion protocol.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Enters concussion protocols

Walker is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Houston. Walker took a shot to the head in the second quarter of Sunday's contest, and he'll have to clear the league's concussion protocols in order to return. Ty'Ron Hopper should see snaps at outside linebacker opposite Isaiah McDuffie for as long as Walker is sidelined.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Logs nine stops vs. Rams

Walker logged nine total tackles (six solo), including one tackle for loss, in Sunday's 24-19 win over the Rams. The third-year pro's nine total tackles ranked second on the Packers' defense in Week 5, trailing rookie Evan Williams' 10-stop effort. Walker continues to be a tackling machine for the Packers, as his 40 tackles lead Green Bay's defense through the team's first five games. Expect the Georgia product to remain a viable IDP option as the Packers take on the Cardinals in Week 6.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Listed on injury report Thursday

Walker was a limited participant in Thursday's practice due to a groin injury. Walker wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, but it appears he is dealing with a groin issue. His practice participation Friday will give a better sense on his availability for Week 2 against the Colts. The 2022 first-round pick played all 76 defensive snaps for the Packers in their Week 1 loss to the Eagles, and he finished the contest with 11 tackles (seven solo).

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Could wear green dot in 2024

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Wednesday that Walker "more than likely" will wear the green dot helmet in 2024 as the Packers' primary defensive communicator, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports. Walker logged over 100 tackles during both of his first two seasons in Green Bay, making him the team's most proven off-ball linebacker following the release of De'Vondre Campbell, who has since joined San Francisco. The Packers are shifting to a new 4-3 defensive scheme under first-year defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, and the team added Edgerrin Cooper in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft while bringing back veteran Isaiah McDuffie. As such, Walker will still likely have to prove that he's capable of handling a bigger role as Hafley begins to implement his defense this offseason.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Finishes with 118 stops

Walker stacked up 118 tackles (59 solo), 2.5 sacks, an interception, three pass deflections and a touchdown over 14 games in the 2023 regular season. Walker just missed matching the 121 stops he made during his rookie season, and he undoubtedly would have surpassed that number had he not missed three games. He's developed into an every-down linebacker, and he should find himself in the same role in 2024.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Full practice Thursday

Walker (shoulder) was a full participant at the Packers' practice Thursday. Walker was considered a limited participant at Wednesday's walkthrough, but his full workload Thursday erases any doubt about his chances to play in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Bears. • Packers' Quay Walker: Limited to open week

Walker (shoulder) was considered a limited participant at the Packers' walk-through. Walker popped up on the injury report Wednesday with a shoulder issue after he recorded five tackles, including a half-sack, in the Packers' win over the Panthers in Week 16. Considering he was estimated as limited, it seems to suggest that the linebacker is dealing with a minor injury, but nonetheless, his status at the team's final two practices of the week is worth monitoring.

Walker notched five tackles (one solo) and a half-sack during Sunday's 33-30 win over the Panthers. Through 12 games this year Walker has racked up 103 tackles (51 solo), a half-sack, three passes defensed and one interception, which he returned for a touchdown. Walker (shoulder) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers. The 2022 first-round pick appeared to be hindered by a shoulder injury during practice this week, as he recorded three limited sessions, but it now seems as if he's been able to move past the issue. Walker has been productive in his second year in the NFL, logging 98 total tackles in just 11 games. He and the Packers defense will look to rebound against a Panthers offense that has scored less than 21 points in each of their last eight contests.

Walker (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Thursday after being listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimate. The linebacker suffered a shoulder injury in Week 13 against the Chiefs and missed the Packers' Week 14 game versus the Giants. Walker is trending in the right direction with one practice left before Sunday's matchup with the Buccaneers. The second-year pro has 92 tackles, three passes defensed and an interception in 2023.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Leads team in victory

Walker made 13 tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 27-19 win over the Chiefs. Walker played all 67 defensive stats and also led the Packers in tackles. The 23-year-old now has 26 tackles in the last three weeks and also leads his team with 92 tackles on the year. Taking on a run-heavy Giants offense in Week 14, the heat-seeking missile should have ample opportunities to match his huge Week 13 performance.

His 19 tackles came five short of the single-game NFL record of 24, shared by David Harris (2007) and Luke Kuechly (2013). Walker leads the league with 47 tackles in 2023, albeit in one more game, with the Packers and Lions having been the only teams to play in Week 4.

  • Packers' Quay Walker: Ties team lead in tackles

Walker recorded seven tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 18-17 win versus the Saints. Walker cooled down a bit after his 17-tackle performance in Week 2, but he still put up a more than respectable showing in his team's Week 3 victory. He'll be a plus IDP option again when Green Bay hosts Detroit on Thursday.
