  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Just two catches in Cleveland

Pearsall caught two of three targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 26-8 win over the Browns. High winds in Cleveland nerfed both passing attacks, and tight ends George Kittle and Harold Fannin ended up being the leading pass catchers for their respective squads. Pearsall hasn't been able to make much of an impact even in better conditions since returning from a knee injury however, and over the last three games he's managed just a 5-20-0 line on nine targets. The second-year wideout will get the 49ers' bye week to reset before taking on the Titans in Week 15.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Held to eight yards Monday

Pearsall finished with two receptions (on four targets) for six yards while taking one carry for two yards in Monday's 20-9 win over the Panthers. Pearsall was held to single-digit yardage for the second consecutive appearance since returning from a six-game absence as the result of a knee injury. At least the 2024 first-round selection got more involved than he was in last week's one-catch, zero-yard outing, garnering three combined touches in the primetime win. It is worth noting that QB Brock Purdy was targeting Pearsall on two of his three interceptions Monday, with one of the passes attempting to connect in the end zone. It is hard to feel confident about the 24-year-old wideout following a pair of duds, but it would be shortsighted for fantasy managers to cut ties at this point. Pearsall possesses elite skills and remains a starter for a high-scoring offense, so better days are surely on the horizon.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Just one catch in return

Pearsall (knee) had one reception on three targets for no gain in Sunday's 41-22 win over the Cardinals. Pearsall returned to the starting lineup after missing the 49ers' last five contests with a right knee injury. That's where the positive news ends after the sophomore wideout failed to gain a yard with his only touch Sunday. Jauan Jennings (5-54-0) was the only other wide receiver to finish with more targets than Pearsall, so the latter's lack of involvement was likely due to an unfavorable game script. QB Brock Purdy did take a deep shot at Pearsall on one of the duo's two missed connections, and the wideout showed his usual burst down the field despite the good defensive coverage. Pearsall averaged 5.0 receptions and 81.8 yards in the four games he appeared in prior to getting injured, so there is hope for improved results against the Panthers next Monday.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Returning to action Sunday

Pearsall (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Pearsall hasn't played in a game since Sept. 28 and was absent from practice for well over a month, but coach Kyle Shanahan's track record suggests the second-year wideout could jump right back into a significant workload. Unlike earlier this season, Pearsall will be part of an offense that has both Jauan Jennings and George Kittle healthy. Pearsall opened the season with 327 yards on 29 targets in less than four full games before suffering the PCL injury Week 4.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Another limited session

Pearsall (knee) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Pearsall has maintained his activity level in his first two official practices since he suffered a PCL injury in his right knee Week 4. He also told Vic Tafur of The Athletic on Thursday that he's "feeling like myself" now, but it remains to be seen how he'll be listed, if at all, on the 49ers' final injury report of the week Friday ahead of Sunday's contest at Arizona. If Pearsall is able to suit up this weekend, he'll be working with normal starting signal-caller Brock Purdy (toe), who practiced fully Thursday before coach Kyle Shanahan announced on KNBR San Francisco that the QB was returning to action.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Returns to practice

Pearsall (knee) is returning to practice Wednesday, David Lombardi of SFStandard.com reports. Pearsall's participation level Wednesday remains undisclosed, but it will be encouraging to see him handling any amount of reps at all in his first on-field practice activity since suffering a PCL injury in his right knee Week 4. That said, Pearsall has managed to work on the side field on multiple occasions in recent weeks. It appears possible that both Pearsall and quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) could retake the field Sunday on the road against Arizona, though full clarity on the status of both players may not arrive until after the 49ers have had an opportunity to evaluate them across a full week of practice.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: May practice Wednesday

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Pearsall (knee) has a chance to practice Wednesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Pearsall hasn't practiced since initially suffering a PCL injury in his right knee Week 4, but he has worked out on the side on multiple occasions in recent weeks. Shanahan told Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com that "hopefully the next two days go good, and if they do, he'll be back out there. ... He had a good weekend." Wednesday's injury report not only will reveal if Pearsall was able to mix back into drills, but if No. 1 QB Brock Purdy (toe) has put himself in a position for his own first game action since Week 4.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Still not practicing

Pearsall (knee) didn't practice Thursday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. However, Pearsall was able to run on the side for a second week in a row, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com. With no on-field work to speak of so far this week, Pearsall seems hard-pressed to play Sunday versus the Rams, but a return to drills in some capacity Friday could set him on a course for his next game action Week 11 or beyond.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Could return in Week 10

Coach Kyle Shanahan noted Monday that Pearsall (knee) has a chance to play Sunday against the Rams but will be evaluated mid-week, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Pearsall hasn't seen game action since Week 4, but the wideout appears to be inching closer to a return. Added context on that front will arrive no later than Wednesday, when the 49ers post their first Week 10 injury report. With Brandon Aiyuk (knee) still not ready to have his practice window opened, the team's top healthy WRs currently are Jauan Jennings, Kendrick Bourne and Demarcus Robinson.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Ruled out again

Pearsall (knee) won't play Sunday against the Giants, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. He's ruled out for a fifth straight game and still hasn't returned to practice, but reports this week at least pointed to progress with Pearsall's side work. His lack of participation in actual practices nonetheless hints at significant risk of missing time beyond Week 9.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Not practicing yet

Pearsall (knee) isn't practicing Wednesday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports. He hasn't practiced or played since Week 4, and the 49ers haven't provided much information beyond listing him as such on the final injury report. They did elect not to place Pearsall on injured reserve, hinting at a week-to-week outlook even though he's now been out for more than a month. In any case, the continued absences from practice don't bode well for a Week 9 appearance this Sunday at the Giants.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Ruled out for Week 8

Pearsall (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Houston, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Pearsall hasn't practiced since September and will now miss a fourth straight game. Meanwhile, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday that Brandon Aiyuk (ACL) may return to practice next week, per Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. For now, Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne are the team's starting wide receivers.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: DNP again Thursday

Pearsall (knee) didn't take part in Thursday's practice, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Pearsall missed the first two practices of Week 8 prep due to a lingering PCL injury in his right knee and now has only one more chance to mix into drills Friday before the 49ers potentially make a ruling on his status ahead of Sunday's game at Houston. If the 49ers rule him out, it'd mark his fourth absence in a row.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Week 8 status TBD

Coach Kyle Shanahan noted Monday that the 49ers will continue monitoring Pearsall (knee) ahead of Sunday's game against the Texans, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Pearsall was unable to practice last week before being ruled out for the 49ers' Week 7 win over the Falcons. At this stage, the wideout's status for this weekend's game is cloudy, with added context regarding his chances of returning to the lineup set to arrive no later than Wednesday's injury report. In Pearsall's absence versus Atlanta, Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne led the team's WR corps, with Demarcus Robinson, Malik Turner and Skyy Moore mixing in.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Won't play this week

Pearsall (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. He didn't practice this week due to a PCL injury in his right knee and thus appears in serous danger of missing another game when the 49ers travel to Houston in Week 8. Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne are San Francisco's top wide receivers with Pearsall out of action yet again.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: DNP again Thursday

Pearsall (knee) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Considering Pearsall has yet to practice in any capacity this week due to a PCL issue in his right knee, he seemingly is trending toward a third consecutive absence, something that may be confirmed on Friday's injury report. Fellow WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (calf) joined Pearsall as a DNP on Thursday, while Jauan Jennings (ankle/rib/shoulder), Skyy Moore (ankle) and Jordan Watkins (calf) all were limited. At the moment, Kendrick Bourne and Demarcus Robinson are the only healthy options at the position on the active roster.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Could practice Wednesday

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Pearsall (knee) will be evaluated Wednesday to see if he'll be able to practice this week, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Pearsall has missed two weeks of practice since injuring the PCL in his right knee Week 4 against the Jaguars, but like QB Brock Purdy, the wide receiver resumed conditioning work on the side last Thursday, indicating that he's making progress in his recovery. Wednesday's practice report will reveal whether or not Pearsall was able to mix into drills, but the 49ers appear to be getting healthier, with Purdy and TE George Kittle (hamstring) all potentially returning to practice in the near future.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Could return in Week 7

Pearsall (knee) remains out for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers but may be able to return to action Week 7 against Atlanta, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Pearsall will miss his second straight game Sunday due to a lingering knee injury. However, Schefter suggests that the second-year wideout may be closing in on a return to action. If Pearsall does manage to get back on the field in Week 7, it would be a big boost to a San Francisco air attack that is still without tight end George Kittle (hamstring) and quarterback Brock Purdy (toe), both of whom could also return in Week 7. Wideout Jauan Jennings (knee) joined Pearsall on the sideline for last Thursday's overtime win over the Rams, but Jennings is looking likely to play this Sunday, per Schefter.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Works on side field Thursday

Pearsall (knee) was working on the side with a sleeve on his right leg during Thursday's practice, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Pearsall has yet to practice since picking up a minor PCL injury in his right knee during a Week 4 loss to the Jaguars, but GM John Lynch said Thursday that the second-year wide receiver "hasn't given up hope" on playing Sunday in Tampa Bay, per David Lombardi of SFStandard.com. In the end, though, Pearsall likely will need to mix into drills Friday to put himself in a position to do so.
