  • Marcus Simms: Let go by Seattle

The Seahawks waived Simms (undisclosed) from injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Simms attempted to make the Seahawks' 53-man roster during training camp after an impressive season in the UFL this past spring with the Michican Panthers. However, he was reverted to Seattle's injured reserve in early August due to an unspecified injury. Now that's he's been let go, Simms will have a chance to sign with another team once he is fully healthy.

  • Seahawks' Marcus Simms: Shifts to injured reserve

Simms (undisclosed) reverted to the Seahawks' injured reserve Thursday after clearing waivers, per the NFL's transaction log. Simms caught on with the Seahawks in July after playing in the UFL with the Michigan Panthers. The 26-year-old wide receiver was let go by Seattle on Wednesday with an unspecified injury designation, and since he was unclaimed off waivers, he will now be forced to miss the entire 2024 season unless an injury settlement is reached.

  • Marcus Simms: Waived with injury designation

The Seahawks waived/injured Simms (undisclosed) on Wednesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Simms is dealing with an undisclosed issue and will revert to IR if he clears waivers. In that event, he will be slated to miss the entire 2024 season unless an injury settlement is reached. Since going undrafted out of West Virginia back in 2019, Simms has yet to make his NFL debut, but he did log an impressive stint in the UFL.

  • Seahawks' Marcus Simms: Set to sign with Seattle

Simms agreed to a contract with the Seahawks on Tuesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. An undrafted free agent in 2019, Simms failed to catch on in the NFL after being waived from the Jaguars' injured reserve with a concussion in November of his rookie season. He turned heads in the UFL this spring however, logging 23 catches for 426 yards and three touchdowns with the Michigan Panthers. Simms also tallied over 1,000 yards as a returner during his collegiate career at West Virginia. He'll likely need to leverage his skills on special teams in order to carve out a role with Seattle this offseason.

Simms worked out with the Seahawks on Monday, Aaron Wilson of The Houston Chronicle reports. Simms was released from injured reserve by the Jaguars in late November. He suffered a concussion during the preseason and never returned to the active roster. However, now cleared, the 22-year-old wideout will look to continue his career elsewhere.
