Texans' Will Anderson: Won't play Sunday
Anderson (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Lions.
It's no surprise that Anderson won't suit up Sunday, as he was unable to practice all week after sustaining an ankle injury in the Texans' Week 9 loss to the Jets. Houston could struggle rushing the passer in Week 10 without Anderson, especially against a Lions offensive line that has allowed just 19 sacks in eight games this season. Derek Barnett will likely start opposite Danielle Hunter on the Texans' defensive line while Anderson is sidelined.

Texans' Will Anderson: Logs DNP on Wednesday
Anderson (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Anderson sustained an ankle injury in the Texans' Week 9 loss to the Jets, and Wednesday's DNP suggests the issue could be serious. The 2023 Defensive Rookie of the Year likely needs to upgrade to at least limited participation Thursday or Friday in order to suit up for Houston's Week 10 matchup against the Lions. If Anderson is unable to do so, expect Derek Barnett to see additional work with the Texans' first-team defense.

Texans' Will Anderson: Picks up ankle issue
Anderson is questionable to return to Thursday's game against the Jets due to an ankle injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Anderson suffered the injury in the first half and was examined in the medical tent. He remained on the sideline and was spotted testing his ankle by making cuts on simulated snaps, though he may not be able to return to the game. His absence would be a big blow to both the Texans' pass rush and run defense.

Texans' Will Anderson: Sack, fumble recovery in win
Anderson recorded seven tackles, including 1.0 sacks and a fumble recovery in Sunday's 23-20 win over Indianapolis in Week 8.
Anderson dealt with a chest injury during the practice week but was cleared of any restrictions well before gametime. The sack upped his season total to 7.5 and established a new career high; Anderson had 7.0 sacks over 15 games during his rookie 2023 season.
