  • Bengals' Kris Jenkins: Plays Thursday

Jenkins logged five tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, during Thursday night's preseason opener against the Lions.

Jenkins participated in 32 defensive snaps, good for 48 percent of Cincinnati's total in Thursday's game. The defensive tackle missed the last three games of the 2025 regular season due to an ankle injury, but he appears to have since recovered. The 2024 second-rounder has a hard path to playing time this year, with the addition of Dexter Lawrence set to knock his position on the depth chart down further.

  • Bengals' Kris Jenkins: Playing time in jeopardy

Jenkins, who missed the last three games of the regular season due to an ankle injury, will have a hard time earning meaningful playing time in the wake of the Bengals trading for Dexter Lawrence, Charlie Goldsmith of Charlie's Chalkboard reports.

The Bengals have traded for Lawrence, signed Jonathan Allen and retained B.J. Hill as interior defensive linemen, and they still currently employ T.J. Slaton. Jenkins hasn't shined in his first two years with the Bengals after getting drafted in the second round from Michigan, tallying a combined 67 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

  • Bengals' Kris Jenkins: Officially placed on IR

Jenkins (ankle) was placed on the injured reserve list Friday.

The second-year pro from Michigan sustained an ankle injury in the Week 15 loss to the Ravens and will now be sidelined for the remainder of the season. Through 14 appearances this year, Jenkins recorded 36 total tackles, including 1.5 sacks, and one pass defensed. Expect McKinnley Jackson to have a larger role on the Bengals' defensive line with Jenkins out for the year.

  • Bengals' Kris Jenkins: Will shift to IR

Head coach Zac Taylor said Friday that Jenkins (ankle) will be placed on injured reserve, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.

Once Jenkins is officially placed on injured reserve, he will be sidelined for the remainder of the season. He sprained his ankle in Cincinnati's Week 15 loss to the Ravens. Jenkins finishes his second NFL campaign with 1.5 sacks among his 36 tackles (18 solo).

  • Bengals' Kris Jenkins: Leaves with ankle injury

Jenkins departed Sunday's game against the Ravens with a left ankle injury and is doubtful to return.

  • Bengals' Kris Jenkins: Solid in pass rush in Week 3 loss

Jenkins registered six tackles (two solo), including 1.5 sacks, in Sunday's loss to Minnesota.

Though the Bengals were blown out badly, Jenkins was a bright spot by bringing down Carson Wentz twice. The first was a split sack with Myles Murphy, while Jenkins' second QB takedown was a solo sack. His sack total Sunday put him already to the halfway mark of the 3.0 sacks he posted over 15 regular-season games as a rookie last year.
