Gosder Cherilus: Contemplating retirement
Cherilus, an unrestricted free agent, is contemplating retirement, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Cherilus hasn't formally decided to retire, but he reportedly isn't looking for a new contract this offseason either. The Lions' first-round selection back in 2008, the 32-year-old veteran has played in 132 games across the past nine seasons and was regarded as an above-average offensive lineman during his five years in Detroit. However, his performance largely declined thereafter, to the point that he spent this past season in Tampa Bay as a mere backup. While he seems intent on sitting out at least the 2017 campaign, a return for the 2018 season technically remains in the picture.

Buccaneers' Gosder Cherilus: Questionable for Week 17
Cherilus (groin/ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Cherilus logged full participation in practice Friday and is likely on the probable side of questionable. With starter Demar Dotson (concussion) returning, Cherilus will likely be a reserve option along the offensive line if active.
