  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Strikes twice on power play

Stamkos scored a pair of power-play goals in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Canucks. Stamkos tied the game at 2-2 midway through the second period and added another goal -- the eventual game-winner -- with 22 seconds left in the frame. He had been held off the scoresheet in his previous three contests before earning his third multi-point effort of the campaign Sunday. The 34-year-old now has six goals, 10 points (eight on the power play), 50 shots on net, 15 hits and a minus-13 rating over 19 games. Stamkos still has the talent to make a big impact, but it's clear he and his new teammates are still getting used to each other.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Adds power-play helper

Stamkos recorded a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 4-0 win over Utah. Stamkos has made noise with the man advantage in November, earning four of his five points this month on the power play. He's also taken a minus-2 rating and added 10 shots on net. The 34-year-old is up to eight points (six on the power play), 42 shots, 15 hits and a minus-10 rating through 15 contests. Stamkos is playing on the top line, but it would be encouraging to see him and his Predators teammates start to generate more even-strength offense.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Nets power-play goal

Stamkos scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 6-2 loss to the Panthers. Stamkos endured a rough start to the season with just one goal in his first eight games, but he's turning things around of late. Aside from cracking the scoresheet in four of his last six appearances, the 34-year-old has found the back of the net three times over his last four. He's still producing at a subpar rate for someone of his stature, though, notching just seven points in 14 contests.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Scores in Wednesday's loss

Stamkos scored a goal on two shots in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Capitals. Stamkos was moved up to the top line for Wednesday's game, swapping places with Gustav Nyquist. With three points over three games in November, Stamkos is starting to find more consistent offense. The 34-year-old is at six points (four on the power play), 35 shots on net, 12 hits and a minus-10 rating through 13 outings this season.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Logs pair of power-play points

Stamkos scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Avalanche. Stamkos has earned multiple points in two of his last three games, a sign his chemistry with his new teammates is starting to take hold. The 34-year-old has earned four of his five points this season on the power play, so he still has improvements to make at even strength. He's added 33 shots on net, 12 hits, six PIM and a minus-9 rating over 11 appearances while seeing time on the second line and first power-play unit.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Two apples can't keep Bolts away

Stamkos picked up two assists Monday in a 3-2 overtime loss to Tampa Bay. It was Stammer's first trip back to face the team that drafted him, and it was an emotional one. During a break in the action, the Lightning played a tribute video and fans and the entire Bolts' team and staff stood and applauded a visibly emotional Stamkos. He's had a slow start to 2024-25 -- the assists were his first of the season, and he only has three points in nine games. Stick with him -- he'll deliver soon enough. Transitioning to a new team is never easy.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Finally finds twine

Stamkos potted a power-play goal in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Detroit. Stamkos' first point as a member of the Predators tied the game at 2-2 in the opening minute of the third period. • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Cold start to season

Stamkos has failed to record a point through the first four games of the season. The Predators' biggest signing in free agency is still looking for chemistry with his new teammates. There's reason to think Stamkos has just been unlucky -- he has 14 shots on net so far. At last year's 15.3 shooting percentage, he would have netted two goals with his average luck. Fantasy managers may want to buy low on Stamkos, as there probably won't be any looking back once his offense comes to life.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Headed for Music City

Stamkos signed a four-year, $32 million contract with Nashville on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Stamkos will don a different sweater for the first time in his 16-year NHL career, having played 1,082 regular-season games for the Lightning since they drafted him back in 2008. The two-time Stanley Cup champion should immediately move into a first-line role while also taking a spot on Nashville's No. 1 power-play unit. Stamkos has reached the 80-point mark in each of the last three seasons and there is no reason to expect 2024-25 to be any different.

  • Steven Stamkos: Poised to become free agent

Stamkos is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 after Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois said Friday that he's not sure the two sides will reach an agreement on a new deal, per Amalie Benjamin of NHL.com. There's loads of speculation that the Bolts offered a $24 million deal, but over eight years to lower the AAV to $3 million. Stamkos, who is 34, scored 40 goals and had 81 points in 2023-24. He's Tampa Bay's all-time franchise leader in games played (1,082), goals (555), points (1,137), even-strength goals (336), even-strength points (707), power-play goals (214), power-play points (422), overtime goals (13), game-winning goals (85) and shots (3,332). Stamkos is best deployed on the wing but can still play down the middle. He should have plenty of suitors if he tests the open market, especially from teams seeking leadership and Cup experience. The Lightning freed some cap space by trading Mikhail Sergachev to Utah on Saturday, so the door may not be closed on a potential contract extension with Stamkos.

  • Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Two goals help extend campaign

Stamkos deposited two goals, including a power-play tally, in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Panthers to stave off elimination in Game 4 of the conference quarterfinals. After receiving an incredible backhand feed from Brayden Point for the game's first goal, Stamkos ripped one of his patented wrist shots past Sergei Bobrovsky to put the Lightning up 5-3 at 9:34 in the third period. The performance gave the electrifying forward 50 playoff goals for his career, and 101 postseason points. Stamkos has five goals and an assist in this first-round series, and his impressive showing Saturday left the door open for more playoff action for the Bolts. Game 5 is set for Monday.

Stamkos scored a goal on two shots and added six hits, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating Thursday in a 5-3 loss to the Panthers in Game 3 of the Lightning's first-round series. The 34-year-old has done his best to keep Tampa Bay afloat, finding the back of the net in three straight games to begin the playoffs, but his team still faces the prospect of getting swept after losing all three contests. Stamkos also has a couple career milestones in his sights -- he needs two more playoff goals for 50 in his caree, and one more playoff point for 100. He might need to reach both marks Saturday in Game 4 in order for the Lightning to stay alive.
