Red Wings' Brian Lashoff: Announces retirement
Lashoff will hang up his skates and call it a career, the Griffins announced Wednesday.
Lashoff spent the bulk of his professional career playing in the minors, logging 628 games for AHL Grand Rapids in which he notched 32 goals and 100 assists, plus another 20 points in 75 playoff contests. The Albany, New York native did see some action in the NHL with the Red Wings for whom he made 136 appearances and garnered 15 points. Undrafted coming out of the OHL, Lashoff put together a quality 14-year professional career.

Red Wings released Lashoff from PTO on Friday, according to the Red Wings' website.
Lashoff has played in Grand Rapids of the AHL the last two seasons and scould return there for the 2022-23 campaign. He is a depth defenseman for the organization.

Lashoff hasn't appeared in an NHL game since 2019-20, when he appeared in nine contests for the Wings in which he generated one assist, six shots and six PIM. Even with Gustav Lindstrom (lower body) going on injured reserve, Lashoff is unlikely to see much in the way of minutes even if he does come down from the press box for a game or two.

Blue Jackets' Brian Lashoff: Traded to Blue Jackets
Detroit traded Lashoff to Columbus in exchange for a 2021 fourth-round pick as part of a three-team deal involving the Lightning on Saturday, Frank Seravalli of TSN.ca reports.
Detroit actually acquired the pick from Tampa Bay as the third team involved in a trade that sent David Savard to the Lightning. Lashoff has 136 games of NHL experience since the start of the 2012-13 season but hasn't seen any NHL action in 2021. The 30-year-old defenseman has three points in 13 AHL games and will likely report to AHL Cleveland.

Lightning's Brian Lashoff: Traded to Tampa Bay
The Lightning acquired Lashoff from Columbus as part of a three-team deal with Detroit on Saturday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.
Contrary to an earlier report, Lashoff was actually traded twice Saturday, originally from Detroit to Columbus, and then to the Lightning. The 6-foot-3 defenseman will stick around with AHL Grand Rapids despite joining Tampa Bay's organization.
