Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Slated to play Saturday
McCabe (lower body) is projected to be in the lineup Saturday versus the Canucks, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
McCabe is looking likely to return from missing two contests. He should be back in a top-four role with time on the penalty kill for this contest. McCabe should continue to be a decent source of physicality with offense that's passable in deeper fantasy formats.

Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Game-time decision
McCabe (lower body) will be a game-time call for Saturday's matchup against Vancouver, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
McCabe participated in Saturday's morning skate and could return from a two-game absence. He has compiled three goals, 16 points, 28 shots on net, 104 blocked shots and 58 hits through 41 appearances this season. If McCabe is unavailable to play, Philippe Myers or Matt Benning will likely be in Saturday's lineup against the Canucks.

Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Set for one-week absence
McCabe (lower body) is expected to miss at least one week, per David Alter of The Hockey News on Monday.
McCabe sustained the injury in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Islanders. He has collected three goals, 16 points, 28 shots on net, 104 blocked shots and 58 hits in 41 outings this season. If Brandon Carlo (foot) isn't ready to return against Florida on Tuesday, Marshall Rifai or Philippe Myers could replace McCabe in the lineup.

Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Set for further evaluation
McCabe (undisclosed) didn't finish Saturday's game versus the Islanders and will need further evaluation for his injury, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
McCabe was injured in the third period, so the lack of information regarding his injury is not a big surprise. The 32-year-old has been a defensive rock for the Maple Leafs this year, and any absence could have an impact in deeper fantasy formats that reward his physical play. He's also posted 16 points in 41 appearances.

Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Assists in three straight games
McCabe logged an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Blackhawks.
McCabe helped out on Dakota Joshua's game-winning goal with 3:01 left in the third period. McCabe has three straight games with a helper, and he has four assists over seven outings in December. For the season, the defenseman has 14 points, 23 shots on net, 23 PIM, 47 hits, 82 blocked shots and a plus-14 rating over 32 appearances. As long as he's chipping in offense semi-regularly, McCabe makes for a decent depth defenseman in fantasy.

Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Should be available Wednesday
Head coach Craig Berube said Monday that McCabe (upper body) should be available for Wednesday's game against Columbus, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
McCabe sustained an upper-body injury during Saturday's game against the Canadiens, but the issue shouldn't force him to miss any additional time. He's appeared in each of the Maple Leafs' first 22 games of the season, recording three goals, seven assists, 53 blocked shots, 30 hits and 21 PIM while averaging 21:16 of ice time.

McCabe took a puck to the face in the second period, prompting his exit. The 32-year-old defenseman will have some time to heal before Wednesday's contest versus the Blue Jackets. If he can't suit up, Philippe Myers would likely enter the lineup.

Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Lights the lamp Tuesday
McCabe tallied a goal, put two shots on net, blocked three attempts, served four PIM and dished out two hits in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blues.
McCabe tallied an unassisted goal just outside the five-minute mark of the first period. Outside of the goal, he stuffed the stat sheet with shots, blocks, PIM and hits. With Tuesday's performance, the 32-year-old defenseman is up to three goals, 10 points, 49 blocks and 26 hits through 20 games this season. In the absence of Chris Tanev (upper body) and Brandon Carlo (lower body), McCabe has seen a slight bump up in playing time, allowing him to compile complementary numbers. Even when the two return to the lineup, McCabe has strong category coverage in fantasy and is a solid depth option on the blue line.

Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Two more helpers in win
McCabe notched two assists in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Mammoth.
The veteran blueliner has remarkably put together a four-game point streak, and he's erupted for a goal and six points over the last six contests despite not having a spot on either of Toronto's usual power-play units. McCabe has never produced more than 28 points in an NHL season (eight goals, 20 assists over 73 regular-season games in 2023-24), so his sudden surge of offense isn't likely to last.

Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Three points in last four games
McCabe scored a goal in a 5-2 win over the Flyers on Saturday.
McCabe lofted a shot from the center of the blue line that went in through a screen at 8:14 of the second period. It pushed the score to 2-1 in favor of the Leafs. He has three points (one goal, two assists) in his last four games, but he may be focused on more shutdown situations in the near future after Chris Tanev (upper body) was stretchered off the ice Saturday.

Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Goal, assist in win
McCabe scored a goal, dished an assist, logged three hits, blocked three shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Predators.
McCabe opened the scoring at 8:42 of the first period and then helped out on a William Nylander empty-netter late in the third. These were McCabe's first two points of the season, but he's been as reliable as ever in his own zone. He's posted a plus-6 rating, eight blocks and six hits to provide decent non-scoring production. McCabe looks to be a lock for top-four minutes as a shutdown blueliner. He's topped 20 points in each of the last four seasons, which gives him appeal in deeper fantasy formats.

Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Chips in with helper
McCabe notched an assist and blocked three shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Senators in Game 4.
The helper was McCabe's first point in four playoff contests. The 31-year-old blueliner has added 11 blocks, three hits, two shots on net and a plus-2 rating. He missed the last seven games of the regular season due to an upper-body injury, but he's had no trouble stepping back into a top-four role during postseason play. McCabe had 23 points, 118 hits, 135 blocks and a plus-23 rating over 66 regular-season outings, so he'll fill more of a shutdown role in the playoffs.

McCabe (upper body) has been ruled out for Thursday's regular-season finale against the Red Wings, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports.
Although McCabe will miss a seventh consecutive game to close out the regular season, head coach Craig Berube said Thursday that he's "very confident" that the 31-year-old defenseman will be available for Game 1 of the Maple Leafs' first-round playoff series. McCabe made 66 appearances during the regular season, racking up two goals, 21 assists, 135 blocked shots, 118 hits and 40 PIM while averaging 21:31 of ice time.

Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Still out against Sabres
McCabe (undisclosed) won't be an option versus Buffalo on Tuesday, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
McCabe will be shelved for his sixth straight game due to his lingering undisclosed injury. At this point, the 31-year-old blueliner should be considered questionable not only for Thursday's regular-season finale against Detroit but also for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. With Oliver Ekman-Larsson (undisclosed) also out, Toronto will have to give Simon Benoit and Dakota Mermis plenty of minutes down the stretch.

McCabe (undisclosed) is expected to be sidelined for the Leafs' next two outings, David Alter of The Hockey News reports Friday.
McCabe is still expected to return during the regular season, but will have just two games to do so after missing the upcoming two outings. Prior to his absence, the 31-year-old blueliner was contributing offensively with six assists in his last seven outings. Due to Oliver Ekman-Larsson (undisclosed) also being unavailable, the Leafs are expected to roll with five blueliners versus the Habs on Saturday.
