  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Lights lamp in loss

Sanheim scored a goal, blocked three shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Wild. Sanheim scored for the first time since Nov. 16 versus the Sabres. Over the 12 games between goals, he had seven assists, 25 shots on net and 32 blocked shots. The 28-year-old blueliner continues to be the Flyers' most important all-around defenseman, though his power-play role tends to come and go depending on who else is in the lineup. Sanheim is up to six goals, 19 points, 69 shots on net, 74 blocks, 20 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 31 appearances.

  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Improvement noticed by Team Canada

Sanheim picked up two assists Saturday in a 4-3 overtime loss to Boston. Sanheim's improvement has been one of the highlights of the Flyers' season. He's fourth in the NHL in average ice time (25:30) and ranks among the league's top 10 in even-strength production from the back end. Sanheim's success has not gone unnoticed -- on Wednesday, he was named to the Team Canada roster for the 4 Nations Face-Off in February. Sanheim has 12 assists, 17 points and 64 blocks in 27 games this season. Only one of his points has come with the man advantage, limiting his fantasy value slightly, but there is plenty of room for a 40-plus point defender who sacrifices his body on most rosters.

  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Logs helper in overtime win

Sanheim notched an assist, three blocked shots, two hits and two PIM in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Predators. Sanheim set up Morgan Frost's game-tying goal with less than 12 seconds left in the third period. Over the last seven games, Sanheim has eight points and 21 shots on net. The 28-year-old didn't start the year in the power-play mix, but he has regularly seen time with the man advantage during his current hot stretch. That bolsters his already-strong fantasy appeal. The veteran defenseman has 14 points, 57 shots on net, 53 blocked shots, 19 hits and 16 PIM while averaging 25:38 of ice time per game over 23 contests.

Sanheim recorded a goal, an assist, four blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Sabres. Sanheim found the back of the net for the fifth time this season with a snap shot late in the first period, and he later set up one of Travis Konecny's goals in the second frame. The blueliner has posted back-to-back multi-point efforts, as he chipped in one goal and two helpers in the 5-4 win at Ottawa on Thursday. Sanheim's six points (two goals, four assists) in seven November appearances have him up to 11 points on the season.

Sanheim produced a goal and two assists in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Senators. • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Manages helper in loss

Sanheim recorded an assist, four hits and three blocked shots in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Hurricanes. This was Sanheim's first scoring contribution since his three-point effort versus the Canadiens on Oct. 27. The 28-year-old defenseman continues to play big minutes, logging 23:51 per game despite seeing just traces of power-play usage. He's at six points, 28 shots on net, 13 hits, 27 blocked shots, 10 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 13 outings. Sanheim has appeal for category coverage, but don't expect him to move the needle by much on offense.

  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Erupts for three points in loss

Sanheim scored twice and added an assist in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canadiens. Sanheim had a standout effort in the loss. He's improved on offense recently, with all five of his points this season coming over the last four games. Sanheim still didn't see steady power-play time Sunday, even with Egor Zamula scratched and Cam York (upper body) on injured reserve. The 28-year-old Sanheim has added 26 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over nine contests, but his offense is likely to struggle if he's stuck in a mostly defensive role.

  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Lights lamp in loss

Sanheim tallied a goal and two shots while logging 21:07 of ice time during Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Capitals. Sanheim's third-period marker was the lone bright spot in another disappointing outing for the Flyers, who have dropped four games in a row. The 28-year-old will need to get going offensively if the Flyers hope to make a push for the playoffs this season, as he has only one point in his first six games after notching 10 goals and 44 points in 81 appearances during the 2023-24 campaign.

Sanheim logged an assist, three blocked shots and two PIM in Monday's 5-3 win over the Coyotes. Sanheim has helpers in consecutive games and three assists over his last five outings. He also nearly had a goal in this contest, but it was called back on a review. Sanheim remains the Flyers' top overall blueliner. He's accumulated 29 points, 94 shots on net, 87 blocked shots, 34 PIM and a minus-15 rating through 53 games in a top-pairing role this season.

  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Won't play Saturday

Sanheim (illness) won't play Saturday versus the Red Wings. Sanheim's absence will be a big one, as the Flyers will have to take on a strong offense without their top overall blueliner. The 27-year-old has 21 points and has averaged 25:29 of ice time per game this season. Marc Staal will enter the lineup for Sanheim, who will get his first chance to return Tuesday versus the Devils.

  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: One of each Saturday

Sanheim scored a goal, dished an assist, went plus-2, blocked two shots and added two hits in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Avalanche. Sanheim has four points and a plus-6 rating over his last three contests. He's putting his recent seven-game drought behind him, and this was his first multi-point effort since Nov. 18. The defenseman's second-period marker stood as the game-winner, his second such goal of the campaign. He's up to 20 points, 53 shots on net, 50 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating through 27 appearances. He's three points shy of matching his production from 81 contests last season, and he should have a good chance to challenge for his career high of 35 points from the 2018-19 campaign.

  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Logs helper in win

Sanheim posted an assist, two shots on goal, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Coyotes. Sanheim has a helper in each of the last two contests as he's begun to bounce back from a seven-game drought. The 27-year-old was one of the Flyers' best players over the first month of the campaign before his skid. He's up to 18 points, 52 shots on net, 48 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a minus-10 rating over 26 appearances. He saw a season-low 19:15 of ice time in this game, though that was likely due to the Flyers having control of the contest, something that's rarely happened despite the team's 14-10-2 record on the year.

Sanheim tallied a goal and two assists in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Wild. Sanheim picked up assists on Sean Couturier's goal in the second period and Bobby Brink's tally in the third before capping the scoring with his first goal of the year later in the frame. The 27-year-old Sanheim has gotten off to an excellent start this season, recording points in seven of his eight games to open the campaign after posting just 23 points (seven goals, 16 assists) in 81 games last year. He's averaged 26:12 of ice time so far, leading the Flyers, including a career-high 2:35 on the power play.

  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Healthy scratched

Sanheim was a healthy scratch during Monday's win over the Flames. Sanheim signed an eight-year, $50 million extension with the Flyers in October, but even that doesn't secure his spot in the lineup. He has 16 points in 57 games this year. Even when playing, Sanheim's fantasy stock has dropped compared to last season.
