  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Garners shorthanded helper

Jarvis recorded a shorthanded assist, two shots on goal and two PIM in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets. Jarvis has done well on special teams over 10 games since he returned from an upper-body injury Nov. 25 versus the Stars. In that span, he has contributed eight points, including five on the power play and two while shorthanded. It's a showcase of his all-situations play, which has seen him earn 19 points over 23 outings this season. The winger also has 63 shots on net, 36 hits and a minus-4 rating.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Lights lamp on power play

Jarvis scored a power-play goal on four shots in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Rangers. Jarvis has four points (two on the power play, one shorthanded) over two games since he returned from a seven-game absence due to an upper-body injury. He was on the third line prior to his injury, but a lineup shuffle has him on the second line now. Jarvis can produce from just about anywhere -- he has six goals, nine helpers, eight power-play points, 42 shots on net and 21 hits over 15 appearances. He's a burgeoning power winger, and it's not crazy to think he can sustain a point-per-game pace.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Three-point effort in return

Jarvis scored a shorthanded goal and added two assists, one on the power play, in Monday's 6-4 win over the Stars. The 22-year-old winger wasted little time making an impact in his return from a seven-game absence due to an upper-body injury, getting the Canes on the board midway through the first period before setting up tallies by Sebastian Aho and Martin Necas in the third. Carolina appears to have made a good investment when the team signed Jarvis to an eight-year extension in August -- through his first 14 contests of 2024-25, he's racked up five goals and 14 points.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Removed from IR

Jarvis (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Sunday. Jarvis will be available to return from a seven-game absence versus Dallas on Monday. He has accounted for four goals, 11 points, 35 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and 16 hits through 13 appearances this season. Jarvis could replace Tyson Jost against the Stars.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Ruled out against Philadelphia

Jarvis (upper body) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Flyers, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said Tuesday that Jarvis was "very, very doubtful" for Wednesday's matchup, so it isn't surprising to see the 22-year-old ruled out. Jarvis didn't travel with the team to Philadelphia, but Brind'Amour indicated Wednesday that the right-shot winger could join the Hurricanes later in their road trip, which includes games against New Jersey on Thursday and against Columbus on Saturday.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Skating in non-contact jersey

Jarvis (upper body) was sporting a non-contact sweater at Tuesday's practice, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. While it seems Jarvis hasn't been cleared for contact yet, the fact that he is on the ice would seem to indicate he'll at least be traveling with the team for the Canes' upcoming three-game road trip. With a back-to-back to start the trip, it seems unlikely the winger will play in Thursday's matchup with New Jersey if he isn't cleared in time to face the Flyers on Wednesday -- though he hasn't been officially ruled out for either contest.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Shifts to IR

Jarvis (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday. Jarvis has already missed the last two games. He won't play Saturday versus Ottawa and Sunday against St. Louis, but he will be eligible for Wednesday's matchup in Philadelphia. However, there is no exact timeline for his return. Jarvis has four goals, 11 points, 35 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and 16 hits through 13 appearances this season. Tyson Jost has been playing during Jarvis' absence.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Could return to practice next week

The Hurricanes hope that Jarvis (upper body) will be able to return to practice next week, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports Friday. Jarvis has been dealing with an upper-body injury over the past few days that has forced him to miss the last two games, and he'll likely also be sidelined Saturday against Ottawa and Sunday against St. Louis. However, he appears to be trending toward a return, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to game action shortly after he's back at practice. Whether he'll be available for Wednesday's road matchup against Philadelphia remains to be seen.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Out of lineup Monday

Jarvis won't play in Monday's road tilt against the Golden Knights due to an upper-body injury, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Jarvis will miss his first game of the season, and Tyson Jost will make his first appearance of the campaign as a result. Jarvis has produced four goals and seven assists through 13 contests. Expect an update on the right-shot winger's status ahead of Wednesday's game against Utah.

Jarvis scored an empty-net goal on four shots, added four hits and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Flyers. Jarvis beat the buzzer in the third period to end a three-game goal drought. The 22-year-old is up to four goals, five assists, 33 shots on net, 14 hits and a plus-1 rating through 11 contests. He's earned five of his nine points on the power play, and he remains on the first unit, giving him a high floor for scoring production.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Dishes two power-play assists

Jarvis logged two power-play assists, three shots on goal and two PIM in Thursday's 8-2 win over the Bruins. This was Jarvis' second multi-point effort in the last three games. He helped out on tallies by Martin Necas and Andrei Svechnikov. Jarvis has eight points through nine outings, and five of those points have come on the power play. He's added 25 shots on net, 10 hits and six PIM, and while he's on the third line at even strength, a spot on the Hurricanes' top power-play unit is valuable with the team converting at a 29.0 percent clip through October.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Pair of points in win

Jarvis scored a goal on two shots, added a power-play assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Kraken. Jarvis has been on the third line at even strength lately but continues to be a factor with the man advantage. He helped out on Andrei Svechnikov's opening goal Saturday before adding an insurance tally of his own in the third period. Jarvis registered his first multi-point performance of the year, giving him six points (three on the power play), 17 shots on net, eight hits and an even plus-minus rating over seven outings this season.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Nets power-play goal

Jarvis scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Flames. Jarvis snapped a three-game scoring drought with a power-play tally midway through the first period, giving him two goals on the year. The 22-year-old is coming off a career-best season in 2023-24, where he notched 67 points across 81 regular-season appearances, and he's up to four points in six outings in 2024-25. It's been a bit of a slow start for the winger, but he's cracked the scoresheet in four of his last five games, so he seems to be trending in the right direction.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Logs power-play assist

Jarvis provided a power-play assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Friday's 4-1 win over the Penguins. Jarvis has opened the season with two points, six shots on net, six hits, four blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over three outings. The 22-year-old has played on the top line with Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov. Jarvis broke out to the tune of 33 goals and 67 points over 81 regular-season appearances in 2023-24, and if he remains on the Hurricanes' top line, a repeat performance is the expected minimum for him this year.

Jarvis inked an eight-year, $63.2 million contract with the Hurricanes on Saturday. The 22-year-old forward had a career-best 33 goals and 34 assists in 81 regular-season games with the Hurricanes last season. He continued his outstanding play in the playoffs with five goals and nine points in 11 appearances. Jarvis will start the season on the top line, alongside Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov, as well as the first power-play unit and could hit the 80-point mark in 2024-25.

  • Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Pots goal in Game 1 loss

Jarvis scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers in Game 1. Jarvis' tally came with 1:45 left in the third period, but the Hurricanes were unable to find an equalizer. The winger has been strong so far in the playoffs with four goals, four assists, 14 shots on net, 14 hits and a plus-4 rating over six appearances. While he's listed on the Hurricanes' third line, his usage has been more in line with a top-six forward, especially with a significant power-play role.

He piled up three goals and seven points in five games against the Isles, giving him plenty of momentum heading into the Hurricanes' second-round clash with the Rangers.
