  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Third straight overtime loss

Greaves stopped 20 of 24 shots in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Penguins. Greaves has lost his last three games in overtime, allowing 10 goals on 81 shots in that span. The 24-year-old hasn't been able to bail out the Blue Jackets from their third-period struggles, but he also hasn't lost a game in regulation since Nov. 5 versus the Flames. Greaves dropped to 7-4-5 with a 2.81 GAA and a .901 save percentage through 16 starts after this poor outing. The Blue Jackets have a tough road game up next when they visit the Devils on Monday to begin a four-game week.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Between pipes Friday

Greaves will patrol the home crease versus Pittsburgh on Friday, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers. Greaves will make his ninth start in the past 11 games, as he has taken over the No. 1 job in Columbus from Elvis Merzlikins. Greaves is 7-4-4 with a 2.74 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 15 starts this season. He will face the Penguins, who are generating 3.09 goals per game, tied for 13th in the NHL.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Tagged with OT loss

Greaves stopped 22 of 24 shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs. Greaves was outstanding in the first two periods but allowed two goals after the Blue Jackets opened the scoring. He has lost two straight overtime contests and has three defeats in his last five starts, but the numbers are better than the record might indicate. It's worth noting he hasn't lost a game in regulation since Nov. 5, going 4-0-4 with a 2.60 GAA and a .903 save percentage over his last eight outings.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Tending twine Wednesday

Greaves will defend the home crease against the Maple Leafs on Wednesday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports. Greaves got the night off in Monday's loss to the Capitals, but he'll return to the crease Wednesday for the eighth time in the Blue Jackets' last 10 games. He's been solid over his last seven starts, going 4-0-3 with a 2.71 GAA and a .901 save percentage. He faced Toronto on the road last Friday and turned aside 27 of 29 shots (.931 save percentage) en route to a 3-2 overtime victory.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Downed by Wings in OT

Greaves made 29 saves in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Red Wings. The Blue Jackets took a 3-1 lead midway through the third period on a Zach Werenski tally, but Greaves couldn't deny a late rally by the home side, which got capped by Alex DeBrincat's winner 1:50 into the extra frame. Greaves has still gone seven straight starts without a regulation loss, posting a 4-0-3 record with a .901 save percentage over that stretch as he seizes control of the top job in the Columbus crease.

He'll face a tough test against the Maple Leafs on Thursday, as they rank fourth in the league with 3.50 goals per game this season.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Earns shootout win Monday

Greaves stopped 29 of 32 shots in Monday's 4-3 shootout win over the Canadiens. He also stopped two shots in the shootout. Greaves came through in the shootout, and he's now on a run of five straight games without a defeat in regulation. Over that stretch, Greaves has gone 3-0-2 with a 2.66 GAA and a .901 save percentage. The 24-year-old has also posted a save percentage of at least .900 in three of his previous four outings. He seems to have gained a firm grip on the No. 1 role between the pipes over Elvis Merzlikins, who will start Tuesday against the Jets on the second leg of this back-to-back set.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: In goal Monday

Greaves will get the starting nod at home versus the Canadiens on Monday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports. Greaves will be making his fifth consecutive appearance in the crease for the Blue Jackets, seemingly cementing himself as the No. 1 option in Columbus. In his last four outings, the young netminder is sporting a 2.63 GAA and a 2-0-2 record. With Columbus heading into a back-to-back, Elvis Merzlikins will be between the pipes for Tuesday's road game versus the Jets.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Facing Rangers

Greaves will be between the home pipes versus the Rangers on Saturday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports. Greaves has taken over as the Blue Jackets' No. 1 goalie, as he will be making his fourth straight start. Greaves is 5-4-1 with a 3.00 GAA and an .897 save percentage across 10 starts this season. The Rangers are 28th in NHL scoring, generating 2.67 goals per game, but they're much better on the road, finding the back of the net 36 times over 10 games.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Earns second straight win

Greaves stopped 25 of 29 shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Oilers. Greaves was beaten twice in the second period and twice more in the third, but he was able to hold off Edmonton's comeback attempt in the final moments of the game. The 24-year-old has started in each of the Blue Jackets' last three games and might be in a position to take over the No. 1 role from Elvis Merzlikins. Greaves has gone 2-0-1 with a 3.23 GAA and an .868 save percentage over those three games, however, so Merzlikins might still have a shot at seeing regular playing time if Greaves' numbers don't improve substantially in the coming games.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Starting Thursday

Greaves will be between the home pipes versus Edmonton on Thursday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports. Greaves will make his third consecutive start as he looks to take over the No. 1 role with the Blue Jackets. He is 4-4-1 with a 2.89 GAA and a .901 save percentage across nine starts this season. The Oilers are averaging 3.00 goals, tied for 17th in the NHL.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Sharp in shootout win

Greaves stopped 22 of 23 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout win over the Kraken. Greaves played both halves of the Blue Jackets' back-to-back. He was torched for five goals on 24 shots Monday in Edmonton, but he fared much better against the Kraken's pedestrian offense, earning his first win in his last three starts. This was also his first instance of starting consecutive games this season. Greaves is up to 4-4-1 with a 2.89 GAA and a .901 save percentage over nine starts. The 24-year-old has been fine for a middling team, but it's unlikely he'll fully pull ahead of Elvis Merzlikins in the competition for time in the crease. The Blue Jackets' next game is at home against the Oilers on Thursday.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Earns second straight win

Greaves stopped 37 of 39 shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Blues. The Blue Jackets have been rotating their goaltenders this season, meaning Greaves got the nod here against St. Louis and Elvis Merzlikins will start the second leg of this back-to-back set against the Islanders on Sunday. Greaves has gone 3-3-0 this season but has won his last two starts, posting a solid .935 save percentage in that stretch. If the rotation between the pipes continues for Columbus, Greaves would be lined up to make his next start against the Flames on Wednesday.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Tending twine Saturday

Greaves will patrol the home crease against St. Louis on Saturday, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers. Greaves has won two of his last three starts and is 2-3-0 with a 2.81 GAA and a .907 save percentage. He is sharing the net with Elvis Merzlikins on an equal basis at this time. The Blues are 21st in NHL scoring this season, averaging 2.91 goals per game.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Draws start in Buffalo

Greaves will patrol the road crease Tuesday against the Sabres, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic. Greaves will continue to split starts with Elvis Merzlikins, as neither netminder has started back-to-back games so far in 2025-26. The 24-year-old Greaves had his first poor showing against the Capitals on Friday, surrendering five goals on 30 shots while picking up the loss. The Sabres have looked great lately, going 4-1-1 in their last six games, and they've scored at least three goals in all but one of those contests.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: First poor outing of season

Greaves allowed five goals on 30 shots in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Capitals. This was Greaves' first really bad game of the season, though he ended up with his third loss in four starts. The 24-year-old allowed just one goal through two periods before the Capitals broke things open in the third. Greaves has alternated starts with Elvis Merzlikins early in the campaign, and that workload may continue throughout the year. Expect Merzlikins to start Saturday in Pittsburgh before Greaves presumably leads off another back-to-back set with a road start in Buffalo on Tuesday.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Starting against Washington

Greaves will start Friday's home game against the Capitals, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports. The early-season timeshare between Greaves and Elvis Merzlikins will continue in the first half of a back-to-back set Friday. Over Greaves' first three starts of the year, he's gone 1-2-0 with a 2.03 GAA and a .928 save percentage. It wouldn't be surprising to see Merzlikins take over in net for Saturday's road matchup against Pittsburgh.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: In goal Monday

Greaves will get the starting nod at home versus the Devils on Monday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports. Greaves posted a fantastic .938 save percentage in the season opener against the Predators on Thursday but still came away with a loss due to the lack of offensive support. It's still early in the year, but through three games, the Jackets have been rotating their backstops, so look for Elvis Merzlikins to get the nod in Thursday's home game against the Avalanche.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Tending twine Tuesday

Greaves will protect the home crease in Tuesday's preseason game versus the Capitals, according to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic. Greaves turned in an excellent performance in his last start of the preseason Wednesday, making 24 saves on 25 shots in a 4-1 win over Pittsburgh. This will be the 24-year-old netminder's third appearance in exhibition play, and considering Columbus has only one tune-up game left after Tuesday's matchup, this could be the last action Greaves sees until the start of the regular season.
