Vilen's production has been steady compared to last year -- he has 24 points in 57 games this season, the same total he logged in more games in the 2024-25 regular season. He has gone nine contests without a goal, but he's earned six helpers in that span. The Devils' blue line is still a strength at the NHL level, giving Vilen plenty of time to continue his development with Utica.

Vilen has a goal and seven helpers over his last 10 outings for one of his best stretches of the season. He's at just 17 points in 46 appearances overall. While he's got the time to get to the 20-point mark again, he hasn't elevated his offense in his third AHL campaign.

Vilen (upper body) was activated from the injured non-roster list and assigned to AHL Utica on Tuesday.
Vilen is ready to return to action after sustaining an injury in New Jersey's penultimate preseason game. The 21-year-old rearguard registered two goals and 29 points in 54 regular-season outings for AHL Utica in 2023-24. He will probably spend most, if not all, of the 2024-25 campaign in the minors.

Vilen is expected to be out for most of October after sustaining an injury in a preseason game versus the Rangers. The 21-year-old defenseman is expected to report to AHL Utica once healthy.
