Top Adam Engstrom News

  • Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Called up by Montreal

Engstrom was recalled from AHL Laval on Monday.

Engstrom will serve as one of the Black Aces for the Canadiens during postseason play after Laval's season came to an end over the weekend. Engstrom made 15 appearances for Montreal this year, recording an assist, eight blocked shots, eight PIM and seven hits while averaging 13:03 of ice time.

  • Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Loaned to AHL affiliate

Engstrom was assigned to AHL Laval on Monday.

Engstrom had 10 goals and 34 points in 45 minor-league games during the 2025-26 regular season. It wouldn't be surprising if he played in Tuesday's playoff matchup against AHL Toronto.

  • Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Logs first assist

Engstrom notched an assist and two PIM in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Panthers.

The helper was the first point of Engstrom's career. The 22-year-old blueliner has added eight shots on net, eight PIM, a plus-3 rating, five hits and five blocked shots over 12 appearances. Engstrom has been in a depth role since his March 30 call-up, but he has a chance to play as long as Alexandre Carrier (upper body) remains out.

  • Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Brought up from AHL

Engstrom was summoned from AHL Laval on Monday.

Engstrom hasn't earned a point in 11 NHL outings this season while supplying seven shots on net, five blocked shots and four hits. He has notched 10 goals and 24 assists in 45 AHL outings during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Back in AHL

Engstrom was reassigned to AHL Laval on Thursday.

Engstrom has played 11 games with Montreal, failing to pick up a point in any contest. The defenseman was a healthy scratch the last three games, and the Canadiens decided to give the 22-year-old playing time in the AHL. Engstrom was an offensive defenseman in the AHL, tallying five goals and 16 points in 20 games before being recalled.

  • Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Recalled again

Engstrom was called up from AHL Laval on Tuesday.

Engstrom will provide extra defensive depth for the Canadiens on their upcoming two-game road trip. The 22-year-old made two appearances earlier in the season, logging two shots on net, two blocked shots and one hit.

  • Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Returns to AHL

Engstrom was reassigned to AHL Laval on Wednesday.

Engstrom was scratched for two straight games, so a demotion to the Rocket shouldn't come as a surprise. He appeared in two games while with the Canadiens, logging two shots on net, two blocked shots and a hit. It's unclear if he'll be called up again prior to Saturday's game versus the Maple Leafs.

  • Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Up after AHL explosion

Engstrom has been recalled by the Canadiens from AHL Laval, the team announced Sunday

One day after recording five points for AHL Laval, Engstrom has been brought up to join the NHL club. The 22-year-old has 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 18 games at the AHL level. Should he appear in a game with the Canadiens, it would be the first NHL appearance of his career. Whether that will happen remains to be seen considering Montreal's six defensemen are pretty set at the moment.

  • Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Five-point effort for Laval

Engstrom scored a goal and added four assists in AHL Laval's 7-2 win over Belleville on Saturday.

Engstrom has scored in three straight games, but it was the four assists that made this a magnificent performance for the defenseman. He's now at five goals and 14 points through 18 appearances for Laval in his second AHL campaign. Engstrom is well on his way to improving from his 27-point effort in the 2024-25 regular season, which could make him a call-up option later this year.

  • Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Reassigned to minors

Engstrom was demoted to AHL Laval on Monday.

Engstrom made it to the final day of training camp, which should speak to how close he might be to breaking into the NHL. The 20-year-old blueliner has yet to make his NHL debut but certainly looks poised to do so at some point during the 2024-25 campaign. Still, the Swede is unlikely to be a full-time contributor at any point, barring a rough stretch of injuries, so fantasy managers in single-season formats can likely overlook him for now.
