Top Jared Wright News

  • Kings' Jared Wright: Sent back to minors

Wright was returned to AHL Ontario on Monday, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports.

Wright failed to score a goal in 27 regular-season and postseason contests, chipping in just four assists, 37 shots and 34 hits. With the Reign, the 23-year-old forward was significantly more impressive, generating 17 goals and 13 assists in 54 regular-season outings. If he can't find a way to bring that scoring touch to the NHL, Wright may have to spend the bulk of the 2026-27 campaign in the minors.

  • Kings' Jared Wright: Helpers in consecutive games

Wright notched an assist and two blocked shots in Saturday's 7-6 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.

Wright set up a Quinton Byfield tally in the second period. The 23-year-old Wright is mainly seeing bottom-six minutes, but he has been a regular presence in the Kings' lineup since the start of March. He's earned three assists, 24 shots on net, 19 hits and 15 blocked shots over 17 appearances to begin his NHL career.

Wright was summoned from AHL Ontario on Thursday, according to John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio.

Wright has 17 goals and 30 points in 54 outings with Ontario in 2025-26. The Kings had a free roster spot after trading Warren Foegele to Ottawa on Thursday in a deal that also included draft picks.

  • Kings' Jared Wright: Gets two goals in AHL return

Wright scored twice in AHL Ontario's 4-1 win over Tucson on Wednesday.

Wright was demoted from the Kings' roster earlier in the day, but he looks motivated to work his way back to the NHL. The 23-year-old reached the 30-point mark in the AHL with this effort, a mark he reached in 54 contests. Wright made his NHL debut Monday, and even if he doesn't get back to the big club this season, he should get a long look in the fall during training camp.
