  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Exits contest with LBI

Woll (lower body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Hurricanes. Woll stopped 22 of 23 shots over the first two periods of the contest before exiting. The Maple Leafs are also missing Anthony Stolarz (upper body), putting their goaltending group in a precarious spot. Dennis Hildeby took over in goal Thursday and would likely see a starting role if Woll is forced to miss additional time.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Starting against Carolina

Woll will start Thursday's road game against Carolina, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports. Woll has been inconsistent in recent outings, going 2-2-0 with a 2.50 GAA and .925 save percentage over his last four starts. He'll have a tough matchup against the Hurricanes, who rank sixth in the NHL with 3.40 goals per game this season.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Sharp in win

Woll made 26 saves in a 4-1 win over Florida on Tuesday. Sam Reinhart was the only kitty to beat Woll. The winger was alone on the slot and waited out the netminder, beating him over the glove while shorthanded. Woll is 3-3-1 with a 2.53 GAA and a .925 save percentage in seven starts. He has stabilized the Leafs' blue paint while Anthony Stolarz (upper body) is out.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Starting in Florida

Woll is set to get the road start against the Panthers on Tuesday, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports. Woll has posted a 1-2-1 record, 2.99 GAA and .911 save percentage over his last four starts. The 27-year-old made 30 saves on 33 shots in his last start, but he was tagged with the loss against Washington on Friday. The Panthers have dropped back-to-back games and three of their last four, a span in which they have netted 16 goals, but eight of those markers came during a win in Nashville on Nov. 24.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Continues to be team's best player

Woll made 30 saves in a 4-2 loss to Washington on Friday. He allowed three goals. Woll was excellent, keeping his struggling teammates in the game when they may not have deserved it. He's been the team's best player over the last handful of games. Woll will take a seat Saturday as Dennis Hildeby gets the nod in a back-to-back.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Gets starting nod Friday

Woll will be between the visiting pipes versus Washington on Friday, Joshua Kloke of The Athletic reports. Woll has started all five games since returning from injured reserve in Chicago on Nov. 15. The goaltender left the team during training camp due to personal reasons, returning just two weeks ago. He is 2-2-1 with a 2.74 GAA and a .914 save percentage in five appearances this season. The Capitals are generating 3.33 goals per game, sixth in the NHL.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Makes 35 saves in OT win

Woll stopped 35 of 36 shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Blue Jackets. Woll surrendered a goal to Zach Werenski in the third period, but other than that, he posted his best performance of the season by a wide margin. Woll bounced back from the loss against the Canadiens on Saturday, where he allowed four goals on 25 shots. He has been solid since making his season debut against the Blackhawks on Nov. 15. He's earned a save percentage of at least .900 in four of his five appearances, posting a mark of .930 or higher twice. Through five contests, Woll has gone 2-2-1 with a 2.74 GAA and a .914 save percentage.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Pulled from Saturday's game

Woll was pulled from Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Canadiens. He stopped 21 of 25 shots before departing the contest. Woll entered this game sporting a 1-1-1 record with a 2.57 GAA and a .912 save percentage, and this was his worst outing of the campaign by a wide margin. He was pulled in the third period, but his role as the Maple Leafs' starting netminder isn't at risk. Fantasy managers shouldn't overreact to one subpar outing from the 27-year-old. The Maple Leafs continue their road trip against the Blue Jackets on Wednesday, and it wouldn't be surprising if Woll is back between the posts for that game.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Facing Canadiens

Woll will get the starting nod in Montreal on Saturday, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports. Woll will get his fourth straight start in goal for the Maple Leafs after missing the beginning of the season due to personal reasons. He is 1-1-1 with a 2.57 GAA while allowing eight goals on 91 shots. The Canadiens sit fifth in the NHL with 3.35 goals per game.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Starting versus Blue Jackets

Woll will start at home versus the Blue Jackets on Thursday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports. Woll is 1-1-0 with five goals allowed on 61 shots over his first two games of the season. He earned his first win of the season last time out, stopping 27 of 29 shots against the Blues on Tuesday.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Secures first win this season

Woll made 27 saves on 29 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win against St. Louis. After missing the first month of the season due to personal reasons, Woll is back in the win column in his second start of the campaign with an overtime win against the Blues. He allowed just one goal at even strength and posted a .966 save percentage on the night. Overall, the 27-year-old goaltender has a 1-1-0 record with a 2.44 GAA and a .918 save percentage through two starts this season. The addition of Woll back into Toronto's goalie rotation is already paying dividends. He won a career-high 27 games in the 2024-25 regular season and should have the opportunity to vie for a similar number this campaign. He should see plenty of action until Anthony Stolarz (upper body) returns from IR. Regardless, Woll has a save percentage of .907 or higher in each NHL season he's played, making him a top waiver-wire target if he's available.

Woll made his season debut against Chicago on Saturday, turning aside 29 of 32 shots (.906 save percentage) en route to the loss. He'll draw a second consecutive start and will face a relatively favorable opponent Tuesday, as the Blues are scoring just 2.79 goals per game this year, which is the ninth-worst mark in the league.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Making season debut Saturday

Woll (personal) is expected to start on the road against Chicago on Saturday, per David Alter of The Hockey News. Woll hasn't played for the Maple Leafs yet this season because he was away from the team for personal reasons. He did get into two AHL games during his recent conditioning stint, but Woll struggled with a 3.72 GAA and an .885 save percentage with the Marlies. Chicago is 8-5-4 and ranks 10th in goals per game with 3.29 this year.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Goes nearly two periods for Marlies

Woll (personal) stopped 21 of 24 shots in AHL Toronto's 3-2 loss to Lehigh Valley on Saturday. In the first game of his conditioning assignment, Woll blanked the Phantoms on nine shots in the first period, but he gave up all three goals in the second. It's unclear how long he will stay in the minors or if he will play in any full contests before joining the Maple Leafs.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Headed to AHL Toronto

Woll (personal) will be sent to AHL Toronto for a conditioning stint, Lance Hornby of The Toronto Sun reports Friday. Woll has yet to see any game action, as he took a leave of absence early in training camp. The 27-year-old netminder was outstanding last season with the Maple Leafs, posting a 27-14-1 record with a 2.73 GAA and a .909 save percentage across 42 regular-season games. He should return within two weeks and will share the crease with Anthony Stolarz upon his return.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Back at practice

Woll (personal) participated in Monday's practice, David Alter of The Hockey News reports. According to Alter, Woll has been skating every other day for the past few weeks. The 27-year-old Woll could head to the minors for a conditioning stint with AHL Toronto in the near future. He hasn't been in the crease yet this season and needs more time to return to game speed. Once he's ready to play, Woll will probably share starts with Anthony Stolarz.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Moved to long-term injured reserve

Woll (personal) was moved from injured reserve to LTIR on Thursday, according to PuckPedia. Woll is away from the Leafs indefinitely due to a personal matter. His move to LTIR makes him ineligible to return until Nov. 1 in Philadelphia, but given that there's been no news recently about his status, and Woll would probably need time to get back up to speed before rejoining the lineup, the 27-year-old probably won't be activated when he's first eligible. Anthony Stolarz is being leaned on heavily in Woll's absence, and Cayden Primeau is serving as Toronto's No. 2 goaltender.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Between pipes for Game 7

Woll will patrol the home crease in Game 7 against Florida on Sunday, per Luke Fox of Sportsnet. Woll is coming off a 22-save performance in Friday's 2-0 shutout win over the Panthers in Game 6. He has a 3-3 record with a 3.28 GAA and an .893 save percentage across six appearances this postseason. Woll posted a 22-save shutout in Friday's 2-0 win over the Panthers in Game 6. Woll was pulled from Game 5 after allowing five goals on 25 shots, which put the Maple Leafs on the brink of elimination. The 26-year-old stepped up under pressure Friday, earning his first career postseason shutout to force Game 7, which will be played Sunday. Woll has allowed 18 goals on 168 shots over the first six games of the second round while filling in for Anthony Stolarz (upper body), who exited early in Game 1. Stolarz has been skating, but it'll likely be Woll between the pipes in Game 7.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Gives up five in OT loss

Woll stopped 31 of 36 shots in Friday's 5-4 overtime loss against the Panthers in Game 3. Due to the absence of Anthony Stolarz (upper body), Woll has played in Toronto's last three games, and he's given up at least three goals in each of his starts. The Maple Leafs hold a 2-1 in the series, but Woll's numbers haven't delivered much confidence. He's gone 2-1 with a 3.99 GAA and an .869 save percentage this postseason.
