Blue Jackets' Dante Fabbro: Pots first goal for Columbus
Fabbro scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Canadiens.
The former Predator ruined Sam Montembeault's shutout bid midway through the second period, blasting a shot from the point through heavy traffic, but it was all the offense the Jackets could muster. Fabbro has two points in three games since joining Columbus on waivers, and he even saw some power-play shifts Saturday as he gets a look as Zach Werenski's partner on the blue line.

Blue Jackets' Daniil Tarasov: Struggles continue Saturday
Tarasov turned aside 25 shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Canadiens.
The 25-year-old netminder kept things close through two periods, but the Blue Jackets' defense fell apart in the third and Tarasov gave up three goals in less than five minutes as the Habs blew the game open. Tarasov has made eight starts this season and given up four goals or more in five of them, leaving him with a 4.03 GAA and .861 save percentage to go along with a 3-4-1 record.

Blue Jackets' Ivan Provorov: Supplies assist
Provorov notched an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.
Provorov is up to two points through seven outings in November. The 27-year-old defenseman has totaled five points, 21 shots on net, 24 blocked shots, eight PIM and a plus-3 rating over 16 appearances this season. While he's shown some potential on offense, Provorov is likely only an option for fantasy managers in deeper formats.

Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Adds helper Friday
Christiansen logged an assist, two PIM, two hits and four blocked shots in Friday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.
Christiansen opened the season with four helpers over six games, but his offense has dipped since then. The 25-year-old snapped a nine-game slump with his assist Friday. In addition to five helpers, the blueliner has added 25 shots on net, 17 blocked shots, 13 hits and six PIM over 16 contests. He's playing in a bottom-four role without power-play time, so he's unlikely to be much of a factor in fantasy even though he's already earned a career year.

Blue Jackets' Zach Aston-Reese: Tallies again Friday
Aston-Reese scored a goal on four shots, added two hits and went plus-2 in Friday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.
Aston-Reese scored against one of his former teams, striking at 2:20 of the first period. He's tallied in back-to-back games and is up to four goals, three assists, 24 shots on net and 32 hits through 15 contests overall. The 30-year-old continues to play in a fourth-line role, but he's been able to see fairly consistent playing time. As he long as he sticks in the lineup, he is poised to reach the 20-point mark for the first time in his career.

Blue Jackets' Damon Severson: Scores in Friday's win
Severson scored a goal on three shots, blocked two shots and went plus-3 in Friday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.
Severson helped the Blue Jackets stretch their lead with the second of three goals for the team in the third period. The defenseman had been held off the scoresheet over the previous three contests. For the season, he's been productive in a top-four role with eight points, 33 shots on net, 25 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating across 16 games. He's topped the 40-point mark just once in his career, but that's the pace he's on so far.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Nets game-winner Friday
Olivier scored a goal on two shots and added five hits in Friday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.
Olivier ended a seven-game point drought with the goal. The 27-year-old winger had a productive stretch of six points in five games in late October, but he's since cooled off. Overall, he has five goals, two assists, 17 shots on net, 55 hits, 19 blocked shots and 21 PIM over 16 contests while mainly filling a third-line role this season.

Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Scores power-play goal
Werenski scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Friday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.
Werenski had been cooling off after his impressive start to the season. However, he got back on track with his first multi-point effort since Oct. 22 in Friday's outing. Werenski has been productive for the Blue Jackets with four goals and 12 points in 16 appearances this campaign.

Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Snaps drought with empty-netter
Sillinger scored an empty-net goal in Friday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.
Sillinger closed out the scoring with 4:28 left in the third period. He went pointless during the Blue Jackets' recent six-game losing streak. Sillinger has just nine points (three goals, six assists) this season, so his production hasn't been enough to make him worthy of rostering in most formats.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Records two assists Friday
Monahan notched two assists in Friday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.
Monahan set up two goals in the third period, scored by Dmitri Voronkov and Damon Severson, and essentially put the nail in the coffin for Pittsburgh. Monahan hasn't scored in six games in a row and only has three assists during that span, but he should continue to find opportunities to produce due to his steady role as a top-six forward and power-play unit member.

Blue Jackets' Dmitri Voronkov: First multi-point effort of 2024-25
Voronkov recorded a goal and an assist in Friday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.
Voronkov recorded his first multi-point effort of the season, but he's been far from being a consistent performer for Columbus. The 24-year-old has only three points in seven outings this season. Voronkov will need to get things going soon if he has any designs of approaching the numbers he posted as a rookie when he notched 18 goals and 34 points across 75 regular-season appearances in 2023-24.

Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Earns win Friday
Merzlikins stopped 21 of 23 shots in Friday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.
Merzlikins snapped a four-game winless skid Friday with a solid performance between the pipes. He went 0-3-1 with a 3.99 GAA and a disappointing .872 save percentage before Friday's performance. Daniil Tarasov will face the Canadiens in Montreal on Saturday, which could lead to Merzlikins defending the crease in Monday's road matchup against Boston.

Blue Jackets' Daniil Tarasov: Facing Canadiens
Tarasov will defend the road crease in Montreal on Saturday, according to Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site.
Tarasov is 3-3-1 with a 3.88 GAA and an .865 save percentage in seven appearances this season. He has allowed 14 goals on 84 shots in his last three starts. Tarasov will get a chance to redeem himself against a Montreal team averaging 2.71 goals per game this season.

Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Facing Penguins
Merzlikins will defend the home crease versus Pittsburgh on Friday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Merzlikins is 2-5-1 with one shutout, a 3.03 GAA and an .896 save percentage this season for the lowly Blue Jackets. He has started six of the previous eight games ahead of Friday's tilt. The Penguins are averaging 2.72 goals, 21st in the NHL.

Blue Jackets' Gavin Brindley: Activated, sent down
Brindley (finger) was taken off injured reserve and reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Thursday.
Brindley was a long shot to make the roster coming out of training camp in the first place but his broken finger certainly didn't improve his chances. The 20-year-old center has played in just one NHL game in his career thus far. Unless he puts up ridiculous numbers in the minors, Brindley figures to spend the bulk of the upcoming campaign with the Monsters.

Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: At practice Thursday
Johnson (shoulder) is practicing Thursday for the first time since he was injured Oct. 17, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.
Johnson was off to a fast start with two goals and five points in four games before he was hurt. The 22-year-old was selected fifth overall in 2021 and had a tough 2023-24 campaign in which he had six goals and 16 points in only 42 regular-season games. He also spent time at AHL Cleveland last season -- recording five goals and 10 assists in 10 appearances -- after playing 79 regular-season games as a 19-year-old with the Blue Jackets. Look for Johnson to have a top-six role upon his return.
