Top Devils News

  • Devils' Arseny Gritsyuk: Still unavailable

Gritsyuk (undisclosed) won't play against Chicago on Sunday, per Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News.

Gritsyuk will miss his third straight game, and it remains unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup. He has generated 13 goals, 31 points, 149 shots on net and 58 hits across 66 appearances this campaign.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Starting against Chicago

Allen will start Sunday's home game against Chicago, Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News reports.

Allen has seen limited playing time in recent weeks, as Sunday's start will be just his fourth appearance since the beginning of March. Across his last three outings, he's gone 2-1-0 with a 3.03 GAA and .894 save percentage.

  • Devils' Timo Meier: Goal streak at three games

Meier scored a goal on three shots and added three hits in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Hurricanes.

Meier scored at 17:06 of the first period to open the scoring, only for the Hurricanes to net the next five tallies. This was Meier's third straight game with a goal, and he has five tallies and a helper over his last seven outings. The recent surge has him up to 22 goals, 37 points, 238 shots on net, 119 hits, 48 blocked shots and a minus-15 rating over 67 appearances this season.

  • Devils' Evgenii Dadonov: Pots first goal of season

Dadonov scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Hurricanes.

The tally came in the final minute of the third period as Carolina took its foot off the gas. Dadonov had gone without a point in his first 19 games this season, and the 37-year-old even got placed on waivers early this month only to go unclaimed. The five-time 20-goal scorer in the NHL will try to salvage something down the stretch on what has been a lost campaign.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Blown away by Hurricanes

Markstrom stopped 29 of 33 shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Carolina, with the Hurricanes' final tally getting scored into an empty net.

The Devils got out-shot 34-19 in the game, but they managed to emerge from the first period with a 1-0 lead before the home side took control. Markstrom saw his three-start win streak snapped, but it was just the second time in 11 outings since the Olympic break that he's given up more than three goals, a stretch in which he's gone 7-4-0 with a 2.81 GAA and .889 save percentage.

  • Devils' Topias Vilen: Earns three assists in win

Vilen notched three assists in AHL Utica's 5-3 win over Cleveland on Saturday.

Vilen's production has been steady compared to last year -- he has 24 points in 57 games this season, the same total he logged in more games in the 2024-25 regular season. He has gone nine contests without a goal, but he's earned six helpers in that span. The Devils' blue line is still a strength at the NHL level, giving Vilen plenty of time to continue his development with Utica.

  • Devils' Ryan Schmelzer: Logs three points Saturday

Schmelzer scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Utica's 5-3 win over Cleveland on Saturday.

Schmelzer, the Comets' captain, hasn't done much on offense this season. He has been held to 22 points (three goals, 19 assists) over 57 appearances this season after logging 44 points in 72 regular-season games last year. At this point in his career, the 32-year-old Schmelzer is just an AHL veteran and is unlikely to see much time, if any, at the NHL level.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Tending twine Saturday

Markstrom will defend the road net against Carolina on Saturday, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.

Markstrom has stopped 49 of the 57 shots he has faced during his three-game winning streak. He has a 22-16-1 record this season with a 3.07 GAA and an .884 save percentage through 40 appearances. Carolina is tied for fourth in the league during the 2025-26 campaign with 3.48 goals per game.

  • Devils' Jonas Siegenthaler: Two more helpers in win

Siegenthaler notched two assists, three blocked shots and two PIM in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Predators.

Siegenthaler went from an 18-game point drought to consecutive multi-point outings with his second two-assist effort of the week. The 28-year-old defenseman's uptick in offense won't last in the long run, as he's still a risky defense-first option that most fantasy managers can look over. For the season, he's at 11 helpers, 53 shots on net, 84 hits, 114 blocked shots, 46 PIM and a minus-12 rating across 71 appearances.

  • Devils' Timo Meier: Deposits empty-netter

Meier scored an empty-net goal on four shots, added three hits and blocked two shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Predators.

Meier has scored in four of the last six games, adding one assist, 20 shots on net and a plus-3 rating in that span. The 29-year-old winger continues to play in a top-six role, and his offense is starting to reflect that usage after some down stretches during the season. He's at 21 goals, 36 points, 235 shots on net, 116 hits, 47 blocked shots and a minus-14 rating over 66 appearances.

  • Devils' Jack Hughes: Extends streak with two assists

Hughes recorded two assists, including one on the power play, and took seven shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Predators.

Hughes couldn't find the back of the net in this one, but he left his mark with two helpers to boost his point streak to seven games -- a stretch in which he's racked up 14 points (five goals, nine assists) and 29 shots. Hughes has been healthy since the league resumed after the Winter Olympics and is up to 23 points in 14 games, tallying eight goals and 15 assists while failing to crack the scoresheet just twice in that period.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Scores twice vs. Nashville

Hischier scored two goals, including one on the power play, in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Predators.

Hischier has scored at least two goals in two of his last six games, as he also delivered two goals in the 6-4 win over the Kings on March 14, and he's riding one of his most productive stretches of the campaign. The 27-year-old forward has cracked the scoresheet in six of his last 10 games while tallying 12 points (six goals, six assists), 25 shots, five hits and five blocked shots over that span. He's up to 55 points on the season across 71 contests, and he's on the verge of reaching the 60-point plateau for a fifth straight campaign, which speaks volumes about his consistency on a year-to-year basis.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Makes 15 saves in win

Markstrom stopped 15 of 17 shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Predators.

Markstrom returned to the lineup after not playing in New Jersey's last two games and didn't miss a beat, allowing three or fewer goals for the third game in a row to keep his winning streak alive. The 36-year-old veteran, who is firmly established as the Devils' No. 1 goaltender ahead of Jake Allen, has won seven of his last nine games, going 7-2-0 with a 2.64 GAA and an .886 save percentage over that stretch. The win total is nice, but the peripherals indicate the veteran hasn't looked nearly as good as his record indicates. He should continue to be a reliable option between the posts, though.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Keeps sizzling streak alive

Bratt scored a goal and added two assists, including one on the power play, in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Predators.

Bratt was the undisputed star of the game Thursday after being involved in three of the team's four goals, with the lone exception being the empty-netter scored by Timo Meier at the 19:27 mark of the final frame. Aside from posting another multi-point performance, Bratt has also extended his goal streak to five games -- his longest of the season by a wide margin. The winger has been on a tear since the beginning of March, putting up 17 points (six goals, 11 assists), 25 shots and a plus-5 rating across 11 outings.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Slated to face Nashville

Markstrom is expected to start on the road against Nashville on Thursday, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.

Markstrom has won his last two outings while allowing six goals on 40 shots (.850 save percentage). He has a 21-16-1 record, 3.10 GAA and .884 save percentage in 39 outings in 2025-26. Nashville has won its past five games while outscoring the competition 20-10.

  • Devils' Arseny Gritsyuk: Ruled out through trip

Gritsyuk (undisclosed) will not be in the lineup for the remaining two games of the Devils' road trip, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports Thursday.

Gritsyuk has been producing offensively of late, generating four goals and four assists in his last 10 outings. With the 25-year-old winger on the shelf, Evgenii Dadonov will step into the lineup for just the second time in the Devils' last 14 contests.
