Sharks' Igor Chernyshov: Called up Monday
Chernyshov was recalled from AHL San Jose on Monday.
Chernyshov hasn't yet made his NHL debut, but he's had a productive start to the year with the Barracuda, racking up 11 goals, 12 assists, 22 PIM and a plus-5 rating over 25 appearances to begin the year. He'll provide additional depth for the Sharks after Philipp Kurashev (upper body) and Will Smith (undisclosed) landed on injured reserve Monday.

Sharks' Ethan Cardwell: Up from AHL
Cardwell was recalled from AHL San Jose on Monday, per the NHL media site.
In other Monday roster moves, the Sharks placed Will Smith (undisclosed) and Philipp Kurashev (upper body) on injured reserve. As a result, Cardwell will probably be in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Calgary. He has one goal, three shots on net and four hits in four NHL appearances this season.

Sharks' Will Smith: Surfaces on IR
Smith (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Monday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Smith sustained the injury in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over Pittsburgh. He will miss at least the next three games, starting with Tuesday's matchup against Calgary. However, a timeline for his recovery remains unclear. Smith has accumulated 12 goals, 29 points and 80 shots on net across 33 appearances this season. William Eklund will probably receive an increased role due to Smith's absence.

Sharks' Philipp Kurashev: Shifts to IR
Kurashev (upper body) was designated for injured reserve Monday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Kurashev is mired in a 12-game goal drought, during which he has recorded three assists, 11 shots on net and 13 hits while averaging 13:59 of ice time. The forward injuries are starting to pile up for the Sharks, as Will Smith (undisclosed) was also placed on injured reserve Monday, joining Michael Misa (ankle). William Eklund and Collin Graf should both see more ice time while Kurashev is on the shelf.

Sharks' Sam Dickinson: Notches helper Saturday
Dickinson posted an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Penguins.
Dickinson had gone 12 games without a point, posting a minus-6 rating and 12 blocked shots in that span. The Sharks have sheltered him on the third pairing, but he's played in all seven games in December since the team hasn't had a back-to-back set yet this month. Dickinson's at three points, 24 shots on net, 22 hits, 22 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 26 appearances so far. He's already burned the first year of his entry-level deal, but the 19-year-old's participation in the upcoming World Junior Championship hasn't been decided upon yet. He may benefit from a couple of weeks away from the NHL to build some confidence since he hasn't been logging much ice time or offense in his rookie year.

Sharks' Collin Graf: Generates pair of helpers
Graf logged two assists, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Penguins.
Graf had gone 11 games without a helper, though he had four goals in that span. The 23-year-old has gotten more looks in the top six recently, emerging as an all-situations forward on this young Sharks team. Graf is up to 15 points, 33 shots on net, 34 hits, 26 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 32 appearances. He's already surpassed the 11 points he had in 33 outings a year ago, and a season around the 30-point mark is in play if he stays healthy.

Sharks' William Eklund: Plays role early in comeback
Eklund scored a goal on three shots, added a power-play assist and went plus-3 in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Penguins.
The Sharks were down four early in the third period, but Eklund helped spark their improbable comeback. He assisted on John Klingberg's power-play tally to start the rally, then scored a goal of his own to get the Sharks within two. Eklund ended a six-game goal drought. The 23-year-old is at eight goals, 21 points, 66 shots on net, 22 hits, 22 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating over 29 appearances this season. He could be in line for a promotion in the lineup if Philipp Kurashev (upper body) and Will Smith (undisclosed) are out for Tuesday's game versus the Flames.

Sharks' Igor Chernyshov: Ends slump with three helpers
Chernyshov posted three assists in AHL San Jose's 4-3 overtime win over Texas on Saturday.
Chernyshov had gone three games without a point prior to Saturday. The 20-year-old winger continues to impress in his first AHL campaign -- he's now at 11 goals and 12 assists through 25 outings for the Barracuda this year. He may not get his NHL debut in 2025-26, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him push for a job out of training camp in September.

Sharks' Filip Bystedt: Breaks out with three points
Bystedt scored twice and added an assist in AHL San Jose's 4-3 overtime win over Texas.
Bystedt had the Barracuda's first and last goals in this game. The 21-year-old had gone six games without scoring and three contests without a point prior to Saturday. He's now at six goals, 20 points and a plus-7 rating over 23 appearances this season, well on his way to surpassing the 31 points he had in 50 regular-season outings last year. His offensive game has rounded out better than expected, but the Sharks have plenty of young players ahead of him in terms of importance to the team's future.

Sharks' Carson Wetsch: Three more points in WHL win
Wetsch scored a goal and added two assists in WHL Kelowna's 8-5 win over Regina on Saturday.
Wetsch is on a four-game point streak with five goals and four helpers. The Sharks prospect has earned five multi-point efforts over his last eight outings. For the season, he's at 12 goals and 33 points through 26 appearances as part of Kelowna's formidable offense.

Sharks' John Klingberg: OT hero in two-goal effort
Klingberg scored two goals, one on the power play and the other the overtime winner, in Saturday's 6-5 victory over Pittsburgh.
With the Sharks down 5-1 in the third period, Klingberg started the biggest late-game comeback in Sharks' history by snapping a shot past Arturs Silovs from the slot. The veteran defenseman then deked past Sidney Crosby at the Pittsburgh blue line and worked a slick give-and-go with Macklin Celebrini in OT to produce the winner. Klingberg has gotten onto the scoresheet in four straight games, racking up four goals and seven points during that heater. His recent offensive surge has accounted for half his 14 points through 24 games this season.

Sharks' Alexander Wennberg: Three helpers in OT win
Wennberg notched three assists in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Penguins.
The veteran center delivered his second straight three-point performance, and he's got three multi-point efforts in the last four contests. The sudden surge in production broke Wennberg out of a sluggish stretch since the beginning of November, in which he had zero games with two or more points and eked out just two goals and six points in 18 appearances. On the season, Wennberg has managed seven goals and 21 points in 33 games.

Sharks' Brandon Svoboda: Two goals in BU win
Svoboda scored twice in Boston University's 4-3 win over Northeastern University on Saturday.
Svoboda doubled his goal count for the year -- he's now at four tallies and nine points through 18 contests. That matches his point total from 33 games a year ago, but it's still not that impressive overall. The Sharks prospect looks to be trending toward more of a defensive role once he joins the professional ranks.

Sharks' Tyler Toffoli: Four-point eruption Saturday
Toffoli scored two goals and added two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Penguins.
Three of his points came as the Sharks rallied from a 5-1 deficit, the biggest third-period comeback in franchise history, and Toffoli's second tally tied the game with 98 seconds left in regulation. It was the veteran winger's second four-point eruption in December, but he was held off the scoresheet entirely in the other five games this month. On the season, Toffoli has nine goals and 22 points in 33 contests.

Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Three points in comeback win
Celebrini produced a goal and two assists in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Penguins.
All three of the teenage phenom's points came as part of a comeback from a 5-1 deficit, the biggest third-period rally in San Jose's franchise history. Celebrini has three three-point performances in the last seven games, and on the season he's up to 16 goals and 47 points in 33 contests -- third in the NHL behind Nathan MacKinnon (53 points) and Connor McDavid (48).

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Hangs on for OT win
Askarov turned aside 38 shots in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Penguins.
The Penguins dominated the second period and took a 5-1 lead on an Anthony Mantha power-play tally early in the third, but Askarov stood on his head down the stretch as the Sharks mounted the biggest late comeback in franchise history. The 23-year-old netminder had ceded the prior three starts to Alex Nedeljkovic due to an illness, but Askarov seems ready to resume No. 1 duties in the San Jose crease. On the season, he's gone 11-8-1 in 20 outings with a 3.19 GAA and a .902 save percentage.

Sharks' Will Smith: Sustains injury Saturday
Smith (undisclosed) was injured versus the Penguins on Saturday, and there was no update on his status after the game, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Smith was injured on a hit by Parker Wotherspoon. With no update available, Smith should be considered day-to-day pending further evaluation. The Sharks' next game is at home Tuesday versus the Flames. If Smith and Philipp Kurashev (upper body) are both unavailable, a call-up from AHL San Jose could be in order.

Sharks' Philipp Kurashev: Suffers injury Saturday
Kurashev (upper body) won't return to Saturday's game against Pittsburgh.
Kurashev logged only 8:03 of ice time in Saturday's contest before his exit. He entered the matchup with six goals and 15 points in 30 appearances. If Kurashev can't play against Calgary on Tuesday, Zack Ostapchuk could return to the lineup.
