No. 12 Michigan will wrap up a season-opening five-game homestand when it hosts Minnesota on Saturday afternoon during the Week 5 college football schedule. The Wolverines are coming off a 27-24 win over then-No. 11 USC, despite getting just 32 passing yards from quarterback Alex Orji. Minnesota has been held under 20 points in two losses this season, so the Golden Gophers might not have enough firepower to exploit Michigan's one-dimensional offense. The Wolverines are 9-point favorites in the Week 5 college football odds.

Elsewhere in the Big Ten, No. 3 Ohio State travels to Michigan State as a whopping 24-point road favorite. The Buckeyes have won each of their first three games by at least 35 points, so should you back them with your Week 5 college football bets? Before locking in any Week 5 college football picks on those games or others, be sure to see the latest college football predictions from SportsLine's proven model.

Top college football predictions for Week 5

One of the college football picks the model is high on during Week 5: No. 16 Notre Dame (-6) picks up a double-digit win over No. 15 Louisville in a 3:30 p.m. ET matchup on Saturday. Louisville ruined Notre Dame's season last year, so the Fighting Irish are in a huge revenge spot this week. Quarterback Riley Leonard has already racked up six rushing touchdowns for Notre Dame, which is coming off blowout wins over Purdue and Miami (OH).

Louisville is going on the road for the first time this season and ranks 90th in yards per pass allowed, so Leonard has a chance to stretch the field with his arm and his legs on Saturday. The Cardinals have also had trouble slowing down mobile quarterbacks already this season, making this a bad matchup for them. Notre Dame has covered the spread in five of its last seven games, and the model has the Fighting Irish covering in almost 60% of simulations. See the rest of its Week 5 college football picks here.

Another prediction: No. 21 Oklahoma (-2) notches a comfortable road win at Auburn in a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff on Saturday. OU's SEC tenure didn't get off to a great start against No. 6 Tennessee, but the Tigers won't be confused with the Vols any time soon. Auburn has already suffered home losses to Cal and Arkansas this season, and it's lost its last four games overall to Power 4 programs. The Tiger benched QB Payton Thorne after he threw four INTs in the loss to Cal, only for his replacement in Hank Brown to then get benched after tossing three picks in the loss to Arkansas.

While OU has some QB concerns of its own, there aren't many issues on the defensive side for the Sooners. They held Tennessee to 25 points after the Vols had averaged 63.7 points over their first three games, and OU is fourth in the nation with 14 sacks. That defense is projected to terrorize the Tigers into multiple turnovers, with the Sooners then racking up over 150 yards on the ground. This will limit Auburn's opportunities to put points on the board, as the model has Oklahoma (-2) winning by double-digits and covering nearly 70% of the time. See picks for every other game in Week 5 here.
