  • Snell signed a five-year, $182 million contract with the Dodgers on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. After posting a 3.12 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 20 starts during his lone season with the Giants, Snell has now earned himself a long-term deal to stay in the NL West. The two-time Cy Young Award winner will be joining an already impressive Dodgers rotation that includes Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow (elbow) and Shohei Ohtani (shoulder).

  • Snell declined his $30 million player option for 2025 on Friday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports. Snell probably would have stuck around had he been forced to make his decision following a slow start to his 2024 campaign. However, after collecting a microscopic 1.23 ERA and 114:30 K:BB over 80.1 innings over his final 14 starts, hitting the free-agent market again was a no-brainer. Presumably, Snell will stand a better chance this time around at landing the lucrative, multi-year deal he had looked for last winter.

  • Giants' Blake Snell: Fires another gem
    By RotoWire

Snell (5-3) allowed two hits and a walk over six shutout frames Sunday, striking out nine and earning a win over the Royals. Snell did not allow a runner to reach scoring position in his dominant performance. He generated 12 whiffs on 88 total pitches and, at one point, struck out five straight batters. Snell has yielded two or fewer runs in eight consecutive starts, resulting in a terrific 1.31 ERA and 65:19 K:BB during that span. He owns a 3.12 ERA through 104 innings this season, but looking at his numbers since returning from the injured list July 9, that number drops to 1.23 through 80.1 frames. Snell's final start of the 2024 campaign is projected to be next weekend at home against the Cardinals.

  • Giants' Blake Snell: Dominant vs. Orioles
    By RotoWire

Snell (4-3) earned the win Tuesday over Baltimore, allowing just one hit and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out 12. Snell was superb Tuesday, allowing a lone single in the second inning while racking up double-digit strikeouts for the fourth time this year. The 31-year-old Snell has held opponents to two runs or fewer in 12 of his last 13 starts, posting a stellar 1.33 ERA in that span (74.1 innings). His ERA is down to 3.31 across 98 innings this season with a 1.08 WHIP and 136:43 K:BB. Snell's currently in line for a road start this weekend against the Royals.

  • Snell (3-3) picked up the win over the Brewers on Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out eight. Both walks and three of the four hits against Snell in the contest came over the first three innings. The lefty would then allow just one batter to reach over his final two frames while generating 17 swinging strikes on the night. The win was Snell's first since Aug. 7 against Washington, and he's now recorded eight or more strikeouts in eight of his last nine outings (excluding his previous start in which he was pulled after just one inning). He also hasn't allowed more than three runs in any outing since June 2 against the Yankees.
