  • Yastrzemski signed a two-year, $23 million contract with Atlanta on Wednesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. Yastrzemski's new deal also includes a club option for the 2028 season. The 35-year-old outfielder got off to a slow start in 2025 but found new life after being sent to Kansas City at the trade deadline, slashing .237/.339/.500 across 186 plate appearances with the Royals. His late-season surge will grant him a multi-year commitment from Atlanta, where the presence of Ronald Acuna in right field could force Yastrzemski to spend more time in left against right-handed starters while Jurickson Profar takes on a DH role. Michael Siani was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

  • Yastrzemski went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs, a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 9-2 victory over the Athletics. The veteran outfielder broke out of his home run drought in emphatic fashion, launching a deep shot to right field off Michael Kelly in the seventh inning before adding another solo blast to right against Osvaldo Bido an inning later. Earlier in the game, Yastrzemski also swiped his seventh base of the season after a third-inning walk. The pair of long balls pushed his season total to 17, with nine of those coming since joining the Royals at the trade deadline. Yastrzemski hadn't gone deep in his previous 24 games, a stretch in which he hit just .176 with a .549 OPS and three RBI, making Sunday's performance a strong way to finish the regular season.

  • Yastrzemski is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians. For the second day in a row, the left-handed-hitting Yastrzemski will hit the bench while the Royals face off against another left-handed starting pitcher (Logan Allen). Kansas City will run out an outfield of Randal Grichuk, Kyle Isbel and Jac Caglianone from left to right Wednesday.

  • Yastrzemski went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBI, a walk and two additional runs scored Wednesday's 12-1 win over the White Sox. Yastrzemski belted his 14th homer of the year and his sixth since joining the Royals. The veteran outfielder has been a force atop Kansas City's lineup, slashing .260/.356/.603 with seven doubles, 12 RBI and 18 runs scored over 87 plate appearances with his new club. That said, Yastrzemski should continue to routinely sit against left-handed pitching, which limits his overall fantasy appeal.

  • Yastrzemski is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Rangers. Yastrzemski has started all 16 games versus righties since being traded to the Royals, but the left-handed batter has now been out of the lineup for all three contests against lefties. Randal Grichuk will handle right field and bat fifth against Rangers southpaw Patrick Corbin.
