He's hit .292 with 15 RBI and 10 runs scored across 23 games for the month, ending his breakout campaign in strong form.

Goodman went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored Wednesday against the Marlins. Goodman had a quiet road trip through mid-September, going only 3-for-23 across a seven-game span ending Sept. 14. However, he's gotten back on track since returning home, going 4-for-9 with a double and a run scored across two games. Goodman has had an impressive breakout season and is hitting well to close things out, blasting four home runs with 11 RBI and seven runs scored while hitting .321 across 14 games in September.

Goodman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres. Goodman will retreat to the bench after he started in each of the Rockies' last six games, with five coming behind the plate. Braxton Fulford will handle catching duties for Colorado in the series finale.

Goodman struck out in his first three at-bats but made big contact in the ninth inning to take Kirby Yates deep for the Rockies' second run. This was Goodman's 30th homer of the year, four of which have come over seven games in September. The catcher has added a .282/.327/.540 slash line, 87 RBI, 68 runs scored, 25 doubles and a stolen base through 127 contests. His splits haven't been as extreme as some of his teammates -- Goodman has hit 17 of his homers in road games and has an .842 OPS on the road compared to an .888 OPS at home.

Compared to recent contests, this was a quiet one for Goodman, but he's still 10-for-21 (.476) with three homers and 10 RBI over five games to begin September. The catcher has 29 long balls, 86 RBI, 67 runs scored, 25 doubles, four triples and a stolen base while maintaining an .871 OPS across 125 contests this year.
