The Rockies signed Brebbia to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training Monday, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports. Brebbia concluded the 2025 season with an ugly 7.71 ERA, though he did notch 26 strikeouts over 23.1 frames during his time with Detroit and Atlanta. The 35-year-old has a decent chance of cracking the Rockies' Opening Day roster as a middle reliever.

Brebbia signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on Saturday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. Brebbia entered free agency after being DFA'd by Atlanta on Monday, and he'll now give the Red Sox some organizational bullpen depth at Triple-A Worcester to close out the season. The 35-year-old righty won't be eligible to pitch in the postseason.

The veteran reliever cleared waivers after being removed from Atlanta's 40-man roster, and he's opted for free agency rather than accepting an outright assignment. Brebbia has made 22 relief appearances between Detroit and Atlanta this season, posting a 7.71 ERA.

Atlanta designated Brebbia for assignment Monday. He'll give up his spot on the 40-man roster and 28-man active roster to right-hander Alexis Diaz, whom Atlanta claimed off waivers from the Dodgers. After being called up from Triple-A Gwinnett on Aug. 29, Brebbia appeared in three games out of the Atlanta bullpen and surrendered five runs (four earned) on six hits and one walk while striking out six batters over 4.2 innings.

The veteran reliever holds an unsightly 7.71 ERA at the big-league level this season and will work in middle relief.
