  • Gore didn't factor into the decision Friday against Seattle, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out five. Gore avoided what would've been his third loss since the beginning of July, but the fact remains the veteran has been trending in the wrong direction lately. This marks the fourth time across five outings this month in which he gave up at least three earned runs, and he has failed to pitch more than five innings in all but one of those contests, too. Gore owns an inflated 7.66 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP across 24.2 innings in five starts in July. His next outing is scheduled to come against the Rays on the road.

  • Gore (6-6) earned the win Saturday against Atlanta, allowing five runs on six hits and one walk in 5.2 innings. He struck out seven. Gore hardly pitched well enough to deserve the victory, notably hitting three batters Saturday, but he received plenty of run support to get him off the hook. Although the 27-year-old southpaw has registered seven punchouts in three of his past four outings, he's given up at least five runs in each of those starts. Gore is putting together something of a bizarre campaign, holding a career-worst 4.80 ERA in spite of a career-best .236 opponent batting average as well as a 122:42 K:BB across 110.2 innings.

  • Gore allowed one run on two hits and a walk while striking out four over four innings in a no-decision versus the Astros. Jacob deGrom was scratched due to a glute injury, and Gore stepped up to pitch on short rest. Gore threw 39 of 65 pitches for strikes and limited the damage to a Jose Altuve solo shot in the fourth inning. Gore had given up 12 runs over his previous 10 innings. The southpaw is now at a 4.63 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 115:41 K:BB through 105 innings over 20 starts this season. Expect him to go back to normal rest after the All-Star break, though his effectiveness Sunday in a shorter outing could be something to keep an eye on.

  • Gore took a no-decision Saturday against San Diego, allowing one run on five hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out six. Control has been a common issue for Gore in 2026, but he managed to submit his sixth start of the year with at least six frames Saturday. The 27-year-old southpaw has issued multiple free passes in four straight appearances and 12 of his 16 outings so far, but he's given up more than three runs on only four occasions. Gore will carry a middling 4.07 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 92:37 K:BB over 84 innings into his next scheduled start in Toronto.

  • Gore (4-6) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks over seven innings against Minnesota. He struck out 10. Gore struggled out of the gate, surrendering a three-run homer to Josh Bell in the first inning, but he was able to settle in and allow just one more run across the next six frames. The southpaw's 10 strikeouts marked a season high after he had previously topped out at nine punchouts on two occasions. Gore will carry a 4.27 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 86:35 K:BB across 78 innings (15 starts) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against San Diego.
