  • Lopez went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Rangers. The steal was his 15th of the season, and he's reached the 15-15 plateau for the first time in his career. Lopez is having a strong finish to a breakout campaign, and over his last 22 games he's slashing .300/.316/.467 with four homers, three stolen bases, 11 runs and 18 RBI.

  • Marlins' Otto Lopez: Sitting down Thursday
    By RotoWire

Lopez isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals. Lopez will get a chance to rest Thursday after going 7-for-15 with two homers and six RBI over his last four games. Maximo Acosta will slide over to shortstop as a result, opening up third base for Javier Sanoja.

  • Lopez went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer and a two-run single during Friday's 19-9 loss to the Mets. Friday's game was out of reach for the Marlins after giving up 12 runs through the first two innings, but Lopez was able to make the result slightly more respectable with four RBI, though his two-run homer in the ninth came off of catcher Luis Torrens. Even so, Lopez's four RBI were the most of his career and brought him up to 65 RBI on the season, which is second most on the Marlins behind Kyle Stowers (73). Lopez has gone 9-for-27 (.333) with one steal, one homer and seven RBI over his last seven games.

  • Lopez (illness) will start at shortstop and bat fifth Sunday against the Blue Jays. Lopez was held out of the starting nine in the previous three games due to a stomach illness, but he's good to go for the series finale versus Toronto. The 26-year-old has struggled to a .189/.250/.230 slash line with just three extra-base hits (all doubles) through 21 games in August.

  • Marlins' Otto Lopez: Exiting starting nine
    By RotoWire

Lopez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus the Cardinals. It appears to be a routine day off for Lopez, who had started each of the previous 10 contests. Maximo Acosta will handle shortstop and bat ninth as the Marlins try to avoid being swept by St. Louis.
