Arrighetti (elbow) is expected to be 100 percent for the beginning of spring training, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports. Arrighetti missed the final month of the season with a right elbow injury, but he's considered healthy now and is "having a very productive offseason," per Astros general manager Dana Brown. The 25-year-old was limited to only seven starts at the major-league level in 2025, as he was sidelined four months with a right thumb fracture in addition to the elbow issue. Brown indicated that Arrighetti has a rotation spot for 2026 locked up.

Arrighetti (elbow) said Saturday that he will miss the remainder of the regular season, but his UCL is intact, and he won't require surgery, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports. Arrighetti is dealing with right elbow inflammation, and he hopes to resume throwing once the swelling subsides. The diagnosis comes as good news for the right-hander, who landed on the 15-day injured listed earlier this week. Both Arrighetti and the Astros remain hopeful he can return to the mound at some point in the postseason should Houston make the playoffs.

Astros manager Joe Espada said they are still waiting on Arrighetti's (elbow) MRI results Thursday, but that a return during the regular season is unlikely, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports. Arrighetti was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to right elbow inflammation. He's without a clear timeline for his return but isn't likely to be back with the Astros in the final weeks of the regular season.

Arrighetti didn't factor into the decision against the Angels on Saturday, allowing one run on one hit and five walks while striking out eight over 6.1 innings. Arrighetti kept the Angels hitless into the third inning before surrendering a solo homer to Zach Neto, which accounted for both his only hit and run allowed. Despite the strong overall line, the right-hander's control issues resurfaced with five walks, a problem that had also plagued him in recent outings. Even so, Saturday's performance brought positives, as Arrighetti set a season high with eight strikeouts and notched his first quality start since returning from the injured list.

Arrighetti (1-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing five runs on 11 hits and one walk in 3.2 innings. He struck out five. Arrighetti showed plenty of rust and a lack of command on his pitch locations in his first major-league start since April 5 in Minnesota, surrendering a career-high 11 hits Wednesday in his first game back from a thumb fracture. The 25-year-old right-hander did produce 16 whiffs during his abbreviated outing, which was perhaps an encouraging takeaway, but he may have been a bit too aggressive in attacking the strike zone overall. Arrighetti has a rough 7.43 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB over his first 12.2 innings this year, so he'll try to right the ship during a scheduled home tilt versus the Red Sox his next time out.
