The Orioles and Kremer avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.95 million contract Thursday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. Kremer had been eligible for arbitration for the first time. The right-hander collected a 4.10 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 123:51 K:BB across 129.2 frames covering 24 regular-season starts with the Orioles in 2024 and will be part of their rotation again in 2025.

Kremer (7-10) took the loss Wednesday against San Francisco, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and no walks across six innings. He struck out seven. Kremer yielded solo home runs to Mike Yastrzemski and Michael Conforto in the first and sixth innings, respectively, snapping a streak of six consecutive starts without allowing a long ball. Kremer also punched out seven batters for a third straight appearance. On the year, Kremer has a 4.19 ERA and a 120:49 K:BB across 124.2 innings. His next start is scheduled to come against the Yankees.

Kremer allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Boston on Wednesday. Kremer didn't get much support in this one -- the first run he gave up scored on a throwing error, and the Orioles managed just one run on offense while he was in the game. However, the right-hander kept his team in the contest, tossing seven strong innings while throwing 70 of 103 pitches for strikes. This was the first time Kremer completed seven frames since April 30, and the quality start was his fifth in his past six outings. He's posted a 2.62 ERA with a 32:13 K:BB during that span.

Kremer (7-9) allowed two hits and three walks over six-plus scoreless frames Friday, striking out seven and earning a win over Tampa Bay. Kremer faced little pushback from the Rays as he coasted through six shutout innings. He loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh inning but Yennier Cano came in to put out the fire and help Baltimore throw a combined shutout. Kremer showed no lingering issues after taking a line drive off his forearm against the Rockies on Aug. 31. After an 0-5 stretch throughout most of July and August, Kremer has gone 3-0 with a 2.96 ERA over his last five outings. He now owns a 4.27 ERA over 111.2 innings this season. Kremer is in line to start in Boston next week.

Kremer (forearm) played catch Tuesday but is unlikely to make his next scheduled start, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports. Kremer had to be removed from his last outing Saturday in Colorado after being struck on the right forearm by a liner. The swelling has subsided enough to allow Kremer to throw, but it sounds like he will not be ready for his next turn Friday against the Rays. The Orioles have an off day Thursday, so they could push everyone up a day. Giving a spot start to Cole Irvin or another pitcher is also an option.
