  • The Marlins outrighted Anderson to Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday. Anderson has been outrighted previously, so he has the option to elect free agency. The righty held an 8.27 ERA and 10:1 K:BB across 16.1 frames between the Rangers and Marlins this season.

  • The Marlins designated Anderson for assignment Friday. The move will clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Xzavion Curry, who was claimed off waivers. Anderson has been torched for 19 runs (15 earned) over 14 innings at the big-league level this season between stints with the Rangers and Marlins. He seems likely to clear waivers.

  • The Marlins optioned Anderson to Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday. Anderson saved the bullpen with 5.1 innings of relief in Monday's loss to the Reds. He wasn't going to be available to pitch for several days, so the Marlins will replace him with a fresh arm.

  • The Marlins optioned Anderson to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday. Anderson was called upon to start in place of Jesus Luzardo (back) on Saturday, giving up six runs (five earned) on eight hits over just 3.1 innings in a loss to the Mariners. He'll now head back to Jacksonville following his rough outing, though it's possible the 29-year-old righty makes another start in the near future with the Miami rotation having been hit hard by injuries.

  • The Marlins recalled Anderson from Triple-A Jacksonville ahead of his start Saturday against the Mariners. He'll be joining the rotation as a replacement for Jesus Luzardo (back), who was initially slated to start Saturday before being scratched and placed on the 15-day injured list. Luzardo is set to miss at least two turns through the rotation, but Anderson may need to pitch effectively Saturday to earn himself any starts beyond that. Since being acquired from the Rangers on May 30, the 29-year-old righty has previously made one spot start for Miami, giving up seven runs (four earned) on nine hits in two innings in a June 14 loss to the Nationals.
