  • The Marlins announced Friday that Stowers (obliques) is continuing a rehab program, but the outfielder doesn't appear on track to return from the 10-day injured list before the end of the season, MLB.com reports. Initially placed on the IL on Aug. 17 due to a Grade 1 left oblique strain, Stowers was cleared to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Sept. 5 but appeared in just one game before suffering an injury to his other oblique. Though both oblique injuries look to be of the mild variety and shouldn't affect his offseason preparation, the Marlins don't have much motivation to rush him back to the field for the final week of the 2025 campaign. Before being shelved, Stowers had been one of the top fantasy breakouts of the season, slashing .288/.368/.544 with 25 home runs, five stolen bases, 73 RBI and 61 runs in 117 games.

  • Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said Monday that Stowers (oblique) underwent imaging on his right side Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Stowers has been out since mid-August with a left oblique strain, but it was soreness in his right side that kept him out of his last two scheduled rehab games over the weekend and necessitated imaging. The results of his imaging aren't yet known. Stowers had been expected to return from the 15-day injured list this week, but his status is now in limbo.

  • Stowers (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports. As expected, Stowers will begin his minor-league rehab assignment Friday, likely the last step in his recovery from a strained left oblique. The outfielder has been sidelined since Aug. 17 and shouldn't require too many games at Jacksonville before being reinstated from the injured list.

    By RotoWire

The Marlins placed Stowers on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left oblique strain. Per Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com, Marlins manager Clayton McCullough noted that Stowers is likely to miss "several weeks" due to a Grade 1 strain, which resulted in the All-Star outfielder being scratched Saturday. Joey Wiemer was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville to add outfield depth, but Dane Myers and Derek Hill may be likelier candidates to see increased opportunities while Stowers is on the shelf.

  • Stowers is out of Saturday's lineup as a precaution due to left side tightness, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports. Stowers is dealing with a minor side injury, and the Marlins are opting to play it safe with the left fielder by giving him the afternoon off. Heriberto Hernandez will hold down left field while Stowers is out. Stowers is slashing .288/.368/.544 in 457 plate appearances this season.
