  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Held out again Monday

Rizzo is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Kansas City.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone had indicated the struggling Rizzo would receive a second straight day off, and that's exactly what will happen. Rizzo has just one hit over his last 29 at-bats. DJ LeMahieu will handle first base Monday while Oswaldo Cabrera plays third base.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Getting Monday night off

Pasquantino is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

Kansas City will lean on a right-handed-heavy lineup to counter Yankees southpaw Carlos Rodon, so Pasquantino and fellow lefty-hitting regulars MJ Melendez and Kyle Isbel will hit the bench for the series opener. Pasquantino had started in each of the Royals' previous nine contests, recording at least one hit in eight of those contests while slashing .333/.357/.667 with two home runs and 10 RBI during that stretch.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Athletics' Aledmys Diaz: Gets rare playing time Sunday

Diaz started at second base in Sunday's extra-inning loss to the Blue Jays and went 1-for-4 with a run.

Diaz drew his first start since June 1 and his fourth overall since being activated from the injured list May 28. The veteran's single was only his second hit in that span, and Diaz figures to continue seeing sporadic playing time moving forward as long as Zack Gelof and Max Schuemann are healthy in the middle infield.

  • Tyler Locklear 3B | ARI

Mariners' Tyler Locklear: Solid in big-league debut

Locklear, who was called up from Triple-A Tacoma earlier in the day, went 1-for-4 with an RBI double and a run in an extra-inning win over the Royals on Sunday.

The rookie snapped a 1-1 tie with his first career hit, a seventh-inning two-bagger that plated Mitch Haniger. Locklear has been an excellent hitter throughout his meteoric rise through the Mariners' organizational ranks, and he should have a solid chance to acclimate to big-league arms while Ty France (heel) remains sidelined.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Twins' Carlos Santana: Playing time trending back up

Santana went 1-for-5 with a double, a walk, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 11-5 extra-inning win over the Pirates.

With Royce Lewis getting Sunday's game off following his recent return from the injured list, the Twins were able to open up a prominent spot in the lineup for Santana, who occupied the leadoff spot after hitting higher than fifth in the order on just one other occasion this season. Santana had a quiet afternoon until he delivered a two-run double as part of the Twins' seven-run outburst in the top of the 10th to salt away the win. The 38-year-old is slashing .294/.385/.529 over his last 10 games, and after he looked to have moved into more of a part-time role toward the end of May following an underwhelming start to the season, he now appears to be pushing the struggling Alex Kirilloff for primary duties at first base.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Not in Sunday's lineup

Rizzo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Dodgers.

Rizzo has gone 1-for-29 over the past seven games and will hit the bench Sunday after starting the previous eight contests. According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, manager Aaron Boone said the veteran first baseman may also be held out of the lineup Monday in Kansas City, which would give him a couple days for a mental reset. DJ LeMahieu will shift to first base while Oswaldo Cabrera starts at the hot corner.

  • Tyler Locklear 3B | ARI

Mariners' Tyler Locklear: Making major-league debut Sunday

The Mariners selected Locklear's contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday. He'll start at first base and bat seventh in Seattle's series finale against Kansas City.

Locklear began the season with Double-A Arkansas but earned promotion to Tacoma earlier this month and slashed .300/.417/.475 with one home run and seven RBI over 48 plate appearances. With Ty France (heel) landing on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move, Locklear could be headed for a regular role as Seattle's primary first baseman.

  • Ty France 1B | TOR

Mariners' Ty France: Has hairline fracture in right heel

France, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday, has a slight hairline fracture in his right heel, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

France was seen in a walking boot Saturday after sustaining the injury on a hit-by-pitch Friday against Kansas City. While there is no exact timeline on his recovery, the 29-year-old first baseman will likely be on the injured list beyond the 10-day minimum. Before the heel fracture, France was slashing .251/.329/.403 with seven home runs and 27 RBI over 237 plate appearances. The Mariners selected Tyler Locklear from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move, and he will start at first base and bat seventh in Sunday's series finale against Royals southpaw Cole Ragans.

  • Ty France 1B | TOR

Mariners' Ty France: Lands on IL with heel injury

The Mariners placed France on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a right heel injury, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

France was scratched from Saturday's lineup after he sustained the injury in Friday's 10-9 loss to the Royals when he was hit by a pitch on the right heel. Manager Scott Servais said after Saturday's game that he was "concerned" about France's injury, per Drayer. Tyler Locklear is expected to be called up from Triple-A Tacoma to fill in at first base for the injured France.

  • Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Delivers lone run

Lowe went 0-for-2 with a walk, a sacrifice fly and an RBI in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Giants.

Lowe delivered the Rangers' lone run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning. It was just his fifth RBI over the last 17 games. The slumping first baseman was recently removed from starting lineups against left-handers and is batting .207 (12-for-58) over the last 19 contests.
